PI Reds

Fished Pecan Island this past Friday. There were very light winds, and the water in the marsh is starting to clean up nicely. Got on a school of reds early in the morning, but the action slowed very fast. Went back out around 4 in the evening, and got on a good topwater bite, and proceeded to have topwaters mangled by these big reds. All fish were released.

Fishing the ponds? Im dont know that area very well,do you think i can get back there in a 17 foot whaler,it drafts about 10-11".

Boat

Um, the water is pretty low right now because of the lack of rain this summer, so I highly doubt you could fish the ponds in that boat. These fish were caught in 2 feet of water. Now you could fish the big canals in that boat.

is this reachable by kayak?

Kayak

You would be in for a very long paddle if you were to leave the landing in a kayak.
