Why not try the European style mount yourself ? Just takes a little time and you have the bragging rights to say you did that mount.

I killed a pretty nice 10 point in Texas last week. Called my taxidermist and he told me $220! So i cut off the horns and made some rattling horns! :smokin:

$220 is cut-rate on a shoulder mount.
Meathauler does some nice ones, guess they call it europene. It is a skull mount, and pretty neet.

It is easy just takes lil time!!!
Cut head off about 3" from base. Skin head eyes out. 1cup salt,1 cup baking soda and 3 squirts of dawn. Put head in water and bring to boil. Turn heat down to a slow roling boil for 4-5 hrs. Take head out and lower jaw should fall apart. Powerwash or hose off alll meat and inside skull. Be careful of nose when doing this since it is fragile. Do not power wash horns at all!!!!!!
Put water up to horns and then pour a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Let set for 2 days.
Dry out and wrap base really well with saran wrap or soft tape. Might want to go half way up rack. Spray horns with bone color spray paint.

PM if yall decide to do it and I will call u. There is a few more lil tips!!!
Here is my two I did this year.

I do it for a hobby. I will do it for my SC buddies for $20 & 6pack to cover propane and materials. I just wont do one that is old and starting to stink. Must be fesh or frozen shortly after and I will wait until I have 3 or so. I live around LC
