Getting sick of mine as well. I think I am going to start my own and be my own boss. Several tracts of land up for lease from timber companies.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I'm going to start seriously looking in the spring.

Another one here. I got out of my marsh lease. Looking for something I can drive to and park a camper at. Something family friendly too.

I looked into this a few months ago. Search on the internet through different timber companies. Most have links with maps to get to the properties allong with google earth photos of the property as well. They encourage you to go and look at the property in person before you bid for the lease. Now is the time to start, most lease fees are due in July. I have a list of websights at work and will try to post them tomorrow.

Heck no:eek: But my son is 3 and I would like him to experience hunting and fishing. And it would give me something to do on those windy rough weekends.

Here are a couple of places that i was looking at.
Plum Creek
Weyerhaeuser (however u spell it)
Roy o Martin
Boisie
International Paper
Soterrallc.com
Crown Pine & Timber

There were still some good size tracs of land the last time I checked.

It's not the lease's fault you can't shoot......It's the whiskey!!!!

my old lease was managed by Roy-O-Martin, some nice guys...... they were very leanient (SP?)

Boise is right by my house

The lease I'm on has property from ROM, Weierhuser (SP), and Plumb Creek. ROM locks in their price per acre for for or five years. I know Plumb creek goes up every year. Not sure about Weierhuser though. I've been on the lease for 4 years now, and when I first joined dues were $550, now they are $650. Just a little FYI.
