Kenner Scuppers

Anyone own or know of water entering through the transom scuppers on the Kenner Vision series boats? I get small amounts of water coming in through my scups when i have the boat in reverse...or have xtra weight/people in the back of the boat. No water enters when weight is equally distributed. Its not enough to make me nervous nor is it anything that wont drain once weight is shifted or boat is put in gear. I can't find much on this and know some of you have this type of boat. I find this somewhat annoying. Anyone have any suggestions....I like the idea of scuppers for draining but would rather it be only a drain hole.

are they rubber scuppers or rabuds?

Big Kahunaz 11-25-2010 11:14 PM

rubber.....i take it the rabuds are the ping pong ball scups? what do ya think LA? is this normal of the rubber scups? should i just not pay any attention to it.........plug em up?.....

I keep mine plugged off, they are rubber but do the same thing that you are talking about..

Big Kahunaz 11-25-2010 11:45 PM

What do yo have them plugged off with? Is it a permanent plug? Please elaborate....

I got a Kenner. I just haven regular boat plugs in mine cause the water comin in annoyed me

..I believe the rolled hulls have 4 different plugs along the back ......whether those are scuppers or not i cant recall but if they are they're alot smaller than these. In no way shape or form could my boat plug fill this scupper. this is a 3" hole i believe

Homerun: What are you plugging them with from the inside? Would you mind posting a pic? Where can you get these plugs?

Shaw: Your Blue Wave has 'em too? Do you get water coming in the back? I'm not sure what im gonna do yet....But from what i've read......get the ping pong scuppers that have the holes on the bottom and not the back....ex:

the rabuds will work fine as long as there's no trash stuck in them, pathfinders had this problem for years also.

jchief 11-26-2010 01:54 PM

I have a Frontier that has the scuppers. I put a 1 1/2" plug in them from the inside.

homerun 11-26-2010 02:01 PM

isold mine 6 mths ago. sorry no picks. it is the same size plug that you use on your boat(the main one at bottom of boat at bottom of transom) just go buy 2 more and they will plug from inside of transom. opposite side of transom of scupper holes(outside). hope this helps. everytime i went fishing i had 3 plugs(1 for outside and 2 for the inside for the self bailing drains)

Big Kahunaz 11-26-2010 03:18 PM

jchief.....where did you get the 1.5" plug? Name brand etc? THX

jchief 11-26-2010 06:20 PM

Got it at Jerry's. Not sure of the brand. They keep theme there regularly.

jchief 11-26-2010 06:23 PM

It is the same plug that they use in the live wells

Kenner18 11-26-2010 10:22 PM

You can get rubber plumbing plugs at any harware store that act just like and look like a boat plug. Multiple diameters available.

Big Kahunaz 11-27-2010 12:00 AM

Thx fellas. They will be plugged!
