Need help
 

Anyone from the Galveston aera here that can help me out with a compasitor for an electric motor? If I can't find one by tonight I will have to pack up and head home. My ac in my camper went out.

There are several places along HWY146 in Texas City. That's only about a 20 minute ride from Galveston. Look on the left side of the road if you headed north. There are several industrial supply shops there close to the plants. I doubt that one will be open tonight but early in the AM yep

Contact Monte Weeks at Weeks AC in League City. Tell him your problem, I'm sure he'll help you out. Probably want be able to get it until tomorrow though. If I wasn't at work, I'd lend you my cheap window unit I got after Ike...prolly someway you could rig it up. I know Walmart sells them.

I wouldn't mind if I was alone, I could rough it out, but I have a 2 year old daughter and my wife is with me.

You could go stay in a motel for the night...that sucks you gotta cut the vacation short.

You sure its just the capacitor and not the motor? Usually, its the otherway around.

Thanks FOF. I thought about the window unit from wal mart but my windows open from left to right in my camper.

Na. It's the capacitor. It has a hole burnt in it and all the dielectrics oil leaked out.

Years ago, a place like Radio Shack may have had your part.

Before leaving the island......get a phone book and start calling some likely places [electric motor sales] and ask them who might have what you need. Maybe try calling Tourist information.

WW Granger would most likely have them. Just checked.....no Granger near by.....Deer Park is closest.

Call Weeks AC, ask for Monty and tell him your deal...he owns 2coolfishing.com and will help you I'm sure of it. League City is about 30 minutes from Galveston just up 45.
