Broadheads

I have been shooting 100 grain 4 blade muzzy's pretty much all my life. But just bought a new Matthews Z7, and have been hearing alot about Rage broadheads. Do any of you guys use Rage's? If not, what other mechanical do you guys use. I was also thinking about the NAP Bloodrunners.

I shot my first deer with my bow last year. I shoot a bowtech, and rage broadheads. It was a bad (Lucky) shot. I hit the do in the right hind quater. Blood flew all over the place, she only made about 50 yards and dropped. The rage broadhead had bigger than a 2" entry severed the femur and femoral artery and poked out the other side of the deer. Like I said lucky break but I am sold on the rage broadheads.

Go with the bloodrunners. Even if they fail to open they will still cut as have some of the cutting surface already exposed. Personally I would stick with the Muzzys. Get 6 of them for the price of 3 others and they never fail to make a hole. Plus if you hit bone with a rage they will bounce of the deer like a tennis ball against a brick wall.

will not use anything else but a grim reaper! no need for little rubber bands and they do some sick damage I use 100gr.

I bought some of the first mechanical broadheads that came out ~25 years ago.

When I finally got a shot on a doe......the I saw that the arrow barely penetrated the skin. I found the arrow about 25 yard from where I shot the deer. I only found one drop of blood.

After a close inspection of the broadhead, I found that the trip was very dull. It took a lot of force just to punch a hole in some paper.

I have been shooting 100 gr thunderheads for about 15 years. They shoot great and the Deer don't go far. The Thunderheads do as much or more damage to a deer than shooting a deer with my .243 cal. with 100 gr. corelock bullets.

I shoot 100 gr Thunderheads, this is my first year hunting with a bow. If I get mechanicals I would probably get the Bloodrunners since they will still cut regardless.

I used to shoot the muzzy 3 blade 100s but switched to the rages last year. I killed 3 deer with them last year and 2 out of the 3 times i saw blood squirt out on impact. There def a good broadhead.

When I was bow hunting, I used Spitfires. They were a great flying broadhead(mechanical) and very leathal! They open up to 1 5/8" and sever everything.

I ordered the BloodRunners today. Gonna give em a shot.
