Finally made it out to the lake this morning. It would hard for someone not to catch fish today. I managed 25 trout on topwater before 8:45. Keeping my limit of all 14inches and above. All they wanted was a top dog I tried throwing other topwater baits and they just would not hit it. I guess the just wanted that sound of the top dog. Just a quick report. All caugt just south of comminsary point.

good trip. we came in south of commissary around 9ish had a few boats in there decided to sneak back out and let 'em make their drifts. from the looks of it, shoulda been there at the crack of dawn but we smacked em on spooks first thing in the pocket wading. love fishin on monday mornings! beautiful day out there, tons of birds workin, water is gorgeous all over the lake, little brown tint up north.

you need to start fishing spots on the channel right now..... You can drive to Cameron...

specktator 06-21-2010 01:09 PM

I saw some yaks around the old jetties Saturday morning. Wherever they came from it had to be a hump!

RAGINJROB 06-21-2010 01:17 PM

I need to learn some spots on the channel first.

Ray 06-21-2010 01:18 PM

They can leave from the old gov't docks North of Cameron and paddle up the old river.

You can go to the ferry on the West side and launch at the public launch on the North side of the ferry or the shell area on the South side, or go farther South, there are a couple dirt roads that lead to the channel. Just drop it in and go.

RAGINJROB 06-21-2010 01:26 PM

and fish the channel drop off?

Choupique 06-21-2010 01:30 PM

That was us in yaks on the south shore saturday. Had to paddle by a huge whirlpool in the dark on the way up.

You launched in the old river/East Fork?

Choupique 06-21-2010 01:32 PM

they have a gate on them, so I was leery about launching there should it be closed when I came back.
