prien lake 5-28-10

launched out of 210 yesterday for an hour to get away.

from the launch, took a left and ran to where prien lake makes that sharp turn and has the white poles sticking up, cut the motor and drifted from there in about 6-8 feet of water with the wind. Fished dead shrimp weightless. Caught 4 trout, 3 reds and about 20 small gafftops. smallest trout was 16", same with the reds. No camera, thought I'd report. Water was 86 degrees.

Side note, lots (and I mean lots) of bait movement after dark, with what I believe to be schools of hardheads going across the top. Lots of big fish feeding after dark closer to the boat house lights that get turned on.

We saw a buttload of bait all the way from Olmsted Shipyard, up Contraband Bayou, all the way down to the jettys.
Lots of clear salty water yesterday.
