boat on the ground
saw a 20 or 22 foot deep v cc with a t top laying in the middle of johnston street about an hour ago. near brothers and jasons deli.
wonder how that happened? |
Spring has sprun.
I think there were 2 boats on the ground in Houston area today. |
i guess if a trailer spring breaks or axle? the hull just slides off the side.
looked like the trailer was about 50 feet away, no winch strap/cable connected. |

This was about 25 years ago. I was on my way to brothers to take care of the horses and I noticed something up ahead. As i got closer I thought man theres a big *** boat in the ditch. There was a truck with a trailer tongue hanging off the back also.
The boat was brand new and was just returning from its maiden voyage. It was about 28ft with twins, I think a Grady. The trailer was old and rusty, so rusty it broke at the tongue. The guy told me 4 of them had bought it together but could not afgford the 1500.00-2000.00dollars for a new trailer. I told him looks to me like you should of spent the 2 grand!!!! |
looked like a mako or old seacraft

several years ago I was headed down Hwy 90 from Lafayette to go to Wax Lake for teal season. About 4 AM we doing 70 half asleep not much traffic and we come upon a big fiberglass V-bottom chillin in the inside lane with no trailer.
The guys that lost it were about 200 yards down with their flasher on. Don't think they made the morning hunt... |
**** happens
Running down hwy 23 to the duck camp in venice their was a F250 on side the road w/ a 16ft air boat in the back of his truck w/ the rake all the way on top the roof. Some cattle got out of a fence that night and he struck one at about 60mph luckily he and his friend were fine, the truck destroyed, the cow "WELL YOU COULD IMAGINE" , and oh yeah Mark Robicheaux builds one hell of a boat too it didn't have ascrstch on it.
I 55 North to the deer camp someone forgot to strap the bow of their 1436 Monark at 70MPH. I got an eye wittness view of that one doing summer saults. And last but not least saw a young kid pull his godevil rig on it's side out of Puglias sporting goods parking lot on to Veterans BLVD. when it curb checked. HE drug it a 1/4 mile before realizing he was dragging the rig and not pulling it |
Boat on da ground...boat on da ground...lookin' like a fool wit ya boat on da ground.
|
I had the springs break on a 14ft flat going on I-10. The only good thing was it was the right side so the boat slid off to shoulder and not into another car. I just heard this load boom and then saw sparks in the rear view mirror.

About 9 years ago me and a couple of buddies went to Sabine to duck hunt opening morning of the second split....made the hunt, didnt kill notta thing. Well on the way back i would check for the boat every 5 minutes or so. We stopped at the red light on Ryan St. to turn left to get on Sale St. and then get on Common St. Well i checked for the boat when when got on Sale and NO BOAT!!! It fell off at the light on Ryan and was on the ground right where a vehicle would be if they were waiting for the light! People were driving by taking pictures and videoing us trying to pick it back up on the trailer!!! Its funny now........that day it was not!!!!

I broke an axle on a dual axle trailer with a Proline offshore boat on it. It was strapped down good enuff to not lose it.
I took the winch line and pulled the axle straight, then chained the axle to the trailer and launched the boat. Left it at a dock in Prien Lake and took the trailer straight to Clarks Spring Service in Sulphur. He installed 2 new axles and sets of springs on the trailer in 2 days. We left for Fla. the next week, feeling pretty safe it would last with new axles. |
