Tsunami
 

Due to the 8.8 earthquake in Chile....there is a Tsunami making a B-Line str8 for me here in Hilo, HI... Last Tsunami to hit here in the 60's came from an earthquake in Concepcion, Chile...which is the exact same location this earthquake took place. It's due here at 3:20pm CST. The previous wave in the 60's was 35+- ft. No telling what this one will be like. I believe the quake from last night is bigger then the one in the 60's. I live out of the danger zone... will try to get on location near the golf course by my house that has a view of the bay and video the Tsunami as it hits. Prayers for the locals who live in harms way fellas.

Tsumanis are dangerous. With modern science, at least they are able to warn you'll before it hits... .won't save property/homes/businesses but should save lives. I am hoping the best for everyone in the Pacific.

First things first....I lack E-X-P-E-REEeONNCE and balance..:D

Those things travel at 500+ mph...hell they are telling the guys w/ boats to take them out .5 to 1 mile from shore to keep safe.

What's crazy is the size of the waves on the North shore of Oahu. Sometimes they reach 40-70ft faces. It's rare but when they do reach face heights of 40+ they have a huge surfing tourny. :eek:

But those waves are not carrying a 19 mile momentum!

500mph is smoking, its crazy how the wave is only a couple feet high offshore.

Man I'm just being domisticated taking care of the chillens; how's the Big Island treating you?

There is lots of TV coverage on the Weather channel.

I will have to tune in ~ 3 PM to watch it.

They show it will have a big impack all the way up the Mexican coast......and a lessor effect on the western US an Alaska shores.

One of my sons lives a couple hundred yards off the California coast. I tallked to him yesterday....but not about the Tsunami. He lives on a hill so he should have a good view.

150ft Wave was Measured........With Max at 500ft

I've been flippin back and forth through weather channels and havent seen anything about any big waves as of yet

Yea.......looks Like Hawaii came out smelling good on this deal..........Thank God for that..It could of been ugly.... I saw on Fox news that it sucked about 6ft down in the bays of California AKA Obama Land

last one i heard of they said the animals were headed for higher ground, i guess they sense it.

Hawaii is now out to the danger zone. Can't say the same for Japan.

Yeah...we were fortunate...Sat up on a look out and watched Hilo Bay get sucked almost dry then fill back in. No waves....more like a flat surge. But that's good b/c any devastation wouldn't be good for an already struggle HI economy. But it was a neat experience. People were lined up on high grounds overlooking the bay area drinking beer and bbq'ing! I'll post some photos here in a second.

Very good...haven't wet a line yet..wife has wanted to do nothing but sight see (volcanoes, cliffs, whales, etc.) but i brought a few reels with me 2 light 2 heavy...just waiting on my poles to arrive. I've got a Marlin trip set up in 3 weeks and will try to get 3-4 trips per month in. It's beautiful here...just wish i were Kona side. But it's not to far.

Tsunami road party....it was super crowded at lower elevation...If you look at the two pics that look identical...you can see the water recession around the rocks to the left and right of pecan island...these 2 pics were shot w/ 30 seconds of each other....This is what you guys were watching on the news. Those rocks that are exposed are usually 20 ft below the water. Attachment 10093
