Falcon Rods

I didn't want to further hijack the Waterloo thread.

I just got off the phone with Jake at Falcon. He still has some Cenderi rods left (casting and spinning) @ a closeout special of $100. This is a high-end blank with titanium guides...the whole nine yards. It's the same blank as the $250 Cara. This is alot of bang for the buck.

Also, I've received alot of e-mails asking about a Falcon prototype. Well, it's out. It's called the BuCoo. It's a split-grip blank and, at 3.7 oz., it's one of the lightest on the market. It comes in 6'6", 6' 10" and 7'. They're not in stores yet so if you wanna be the first you gotta call and tell 'em Salty sent ya. You won't believe the price. Ask for Jake.

how much are the bucoos?

Salty 06-03-2009 12:10 PM

I think he said $100. Don't quote me, tho. We talked about alot of rods.

Y'all can ask Bruce about the BuCoo. :)

LaAngler 06-03-2009 12:10 PM

http://www.falconrods.com/bucoo.html

looks nice, i just don't need another rod right now

they are 99-110

the expert looks better, has the same reel seat as the waterloo and all cork

i called and they said the bucoo was lighter than the cenderi but maybe not the expert....it's not a new blank either....

i am fraught with skepticism.....

Salty 06-03-2009 12:13 PM

You can't even buy a Low Rider or Coastal for $100. The Original is damn near $100. That Cenderi is a steal.

The Expert ain't nowhere near $100, either. :)

huntin fool 06-03-2009 12:22 PM

cara, bucoo, and expert look awesome

CatDaddy 06-03-2009 12:24 PM

Think you can hyjack a picture of them for me?

Salty 06-03-2009 12:26 PM

The Cara and Cenderi are the same blanks and guides. Why would anyone buy a Cara when you can get a Cenderi for 1/2 price?

I'm not claiming that these rods are better than a Waterloo. Like I stated before...I've never seen a Waterloo. I'm saying that, for the money, you can't go wrong with the Cenderi. Jake is already back ordering the BuCoo so they will be hot.

my guess is -cara has a split grip and cenderi doesn't

that split grip looks awesome

pair that bucoo up with a citica and you have a fine lightweight outfit for 200 bucks...

I have the Original, Coastal XG and the Cenderi TI, all good rods

007 06-03-2009 01:04 PM

I just ordered a custom BillyStix so my 7' Falcon Coastal medium popper is for sale. It's new and still has the store tags on it. I paid $109 for it and I'll take $75.

Or I'll consider a trade for a Curado that's still in good shape.

That's a good deal on that rod, Mike.

Salty 06-03-2009 10:43 PM

Mike, I'm convinced that the Cenderi is a much better rod than the BuCoo. The BuCoo is about the same quality as the Falcon Original...except for the split grip handle. It's probably worth $100 but I'd put my money on the Cenderi. Before you order, check with Catdaddy. I think he got the medium instead of the light.

Austin(boatman's son) 06-04-2009 01:34 PM

fool, get the original, it is just as good. Its an awsome rod, i havnt missed a fish with it, i love it

No way the Original is as good as the Cenderi. Totally different blank, reel seat and titanium guides.

Austin(boatman's son) 06-04-2009 02:14 PM

didnt say it was better.. just said it was good. And it is cheeper

Didn't say you said it was better. :) With tax, the Original is gonna tear up a croaker. Cenderis are $99.

Austin(boatman's son) 06-04-2009 02:48 PM

why in the world would i want to catch a croaker anyways?????
