Capt. Clay Higgins Resigns

Does anybody know any details on why Clay Higgins aka Cajun John Wayne resigned from the St. Landry Sherriff's Office? I saw his press conference, but he didn't get into specifics.

He made a video related to some gang members they are after. So says he caught a lot of crap over it. Don't know the whole story.

PaulMyers 02-29-2016 10:09 PM

The link I posted kinda gives both sides of the story.

Need more guys like him out there.

cajun_poboy 02-29-2016 10:12 PM

From what I read, he called the gang members animals, thugs, and heathens. The aclu objected to that. My own thoughts are that they put enough pressure that sheriff guidros may have ordered Higgins to apologize and he decided he wouldn't sell out to gang members or the aclu.

Sad world we live in when the "feelings" of criminals takes presidence over catching and punishing the POS individuals they are!!

My thoughts exactly !

Makes me wonder if the criminals now days have as much or more rights/leverage than the people who try and live right. Very sad ... Oops ... Wait ! They do !

We live in a way too politically correct world now days in my opinion.

Most of our grand parents I'm sure are well disappointed !

Exactly. It's a reality check of the country we've created.

This and I think he was told to tone it way down going forward.

Ya know If Obongo had a son, He would have been offended by Clay Higgins aka Cajun John Wayne statements

Sad Day..

swampman46 03-01-2016 09:56 AM

Guidros may be thinking way ahead here, like clearing the way for re-election time? No obstacles in the way-no issues to deal with. Sad times when even the slightest hint of disfavor from minority groups sends us running like the sheep we've become.

ratherbefishing186 03-01-2016 10:08 AM

damn crying shame!

Higgins

I love Capt. Higgins's mission and videos. He will be sorely missed. But...after seeing the news reports, it looks like more of a power struggle thing between Higgins and the Sheriff than pressure from the ACLU.

Sometimes you can overstep your boundaries at work even though what you are doing is right and just.

I don't know any details but the Sheriff should have been backing him 100% from the start and standing with Higgins in those videos!

My 2 cents..

The "agentic state" is where most of us live nowadays, and Capt. Higgins did a good job of fleeing the stronghold and avoiding it.

cgoods17 03-01-2016 04:02 PM

what about all of the town's leaders that were standing behind Higgins in the gang video?

if they were backing him up and supporting his message in the video, why are they not standing by and backing him up now?

this is unreal..

He better hope Higgins doesn't run for sheriff. If I were him I would.

Do you think he could win?

No

Creole Fisherman 03-02-2016 12:15 AM

I think it is more a personality conflict between the sheriff and Higgens. The sheriff was being overshadowed. "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer"

Because their morals, values, and true motives were only flesh deep. They wanted to do it when everyone was supporting him/when they could get on TV and look cool standing there, but when the nut check came they all tucked tail and went back to their holes. When they realized that there could be some repercussions, they faded into the shadows. What Higgins did was driven on his true passion and commitment to his values and morals, something very rare and quite often inconceivable to the population these days.

Not sure. It seems to me that more citizens are supporting Higgins than Guidroz. I really have no clue, I just heard rumors that he was planning on running. Could be completely false.

Top Dawg 03-02-2016 12:59 PM

Sure sounds like he plans on running by his comment at the end of his statement. Would love to see him win and tell the current nutless sheriff to kick rocks.

troy001 03-02-2016 09:34 PM

sure wish we had a sheriff with his belives in acaidia parish

rbertrand 03-04-2016 02:47 AM

I think Sherrif Guidroz was butt hurt over Capt Higgins having the balls to speak his mind. I think he resigned over politically correct talk. Wish him all the best!

cmac23 03-04-2016 10:21 AM

Guidroz won't win again because of all this!
