Thief in Lafayette
2 Attachment(s)
Caught this guy going through the back of people's trucks at Harbor Freight in Lafayette. We got him with someone's toolbox in his hands. He dropped it and apologized, but took off when he realized we were calling the cops. I was able to snap a few quick pics. Gave his picture and plate number to the cops. If anyone knows this dude shoot me a PM. Y'all be mindful out there.

Good Job Matt G.!!
Should be easy to catch with that license plate picture. Hopefully a lot of people will get their hard earned stuff back because ya'll stood up to this low life trash |
Is he waving bye hoping to simmer the situation down? What a joke.
|
Great work there Brother!! This POS needs a "rural route" to jail!!!

Good Job....together I hope we can run people like this out of town.
|
If the plates start with a "C". Isn't it a company / corporate truck?
|
I would like to get a follow up to this story to see what the cops do with they guy.
I would bet that they don't ever make an arrest because with no evidence and because the guy was stopped before he actually stole something they don't have anything to charge him with. It may have been more productive if everyone there just beat the **** out of him and then let him drive off. Like you said you can't do things like that (the right thing to do) these days. |

If they don't own the truck (commercial) odds are really good a thorough police investigation should result in a termination if not a conviction. |
Great job of catching this guy in the act. please keep us informed, i am interested to see if the cops do anything. it looks open and shut to me, but i'm no lawyer.
maybe at least we can find out his name/address. i hate a thief. |
Unfortunately I don't have any info to follow up with. I'd like to think he gets arrested, but I'm kind of agreeing with Mako. A good parking lot beat down was what he needed. It wasn't my toolbox he was stealing and I'm not willing to go to jail over a couple hundred buck of someone else's tool.
Does anybody recognize the logo on the back of his shirt? Is that a local companies logo? I'm sure they would love to know someone is going around town stealing crap in their shirt. |

good for you Matt, hopefully he went to jail, too bad he didn't get a beat down, the shirt he is wearing looks like an old air logistics shirt, i believe it is now bristol helicopters |

I can look up his plate and post his name. So i??
|
I keep waiting to hear this guy was arrested and is in jail now, any progress on it or is it one where if a cop doesn't witness it it doesn't get followed up on?

If someone can find his name then you can go to www.lafayettemugshots.com to put a face to it, if he has been previously arrested here.
|
Looks like they got him.

most rich people are so tight they will spend a dollar in gas driving to a discount store trying to save a nickel. when I worked in the a/c business we never had much trouble collecting money from middle income or even poor people, but many of the rich ones often took 2-3 months to pay up. we used to keep a list of the ones not worth the hassle to collect from so it was cash or credit card only for them. |

Yeah, just goes to show the little value people place on lives. Glad this dude was caught and hope he receives due punishment under the law, but he still human and redeemable. Hope God sends him someone to share the gospel and love of God with him and that he can become a changed man. Jopete I hope God changes your heart too.

Your comments remind me of the type that wind up making the front page of the paper. |
what u want me to say, not everybody got a trophy on my t-ball team when i was a kid?
i did not realize i had to be a criminal loving group hugger to be a 'salty cajun'. i thought just being a person who likes to fish, doesn't like thieves, doesn't care for potlickers, and loves his Jesus was enough. oh, and be a si-ki-atrist to analize everyones mental health from a couple comments about people actling like douchebags. feel free to use the ignore feature if you can't handle others opinions, that's what it's there for. sorry for the rant on your thread Mat G. i'm out. over 8000 post? go outside, life is passing you by!!!! lol |

Wow, that is what you got out of the responses to your (hope he gets killed or dies) comment? Brother you have some serious hate issues and need to be learning the teachings of the "Jesus" you claim to love. Everyone likes to see justice handed down, but we're still civilized. Loving our enemies is hard, but we're told to do so. Doesn't mean we look the other way, but we let the law and justice be swift and fair. Wouldn't it be great if he met the Jesus you love and becomes a missionary or preacher? Paul was a murderer and he helped change the world!! We all need to watch what we say and think, because what comes out of the mouth originates in the heart.
