you like the saddam hussein pizza? Nah!

Steamboats is good, especially the house potato. Darrells for poboys, Luna's is my wife's fave...but the best food comes out of my kitchen.:smokin:

coachlaw 05-30-2009 12:30 AM

In New Orleans, Charlie's Steak House was my all time favorite. But I don't know if they finally re-opened. I heard rumors last year that they had finally fixed the Katrina mess, but I haven't been down Dryades Street to see. If someone else is paying, it's gotta be Drago's, but not the one in the Quarter, the one in Fat City. Nobody has better oysters.

Here in Texas, you can't beat the Tex-Mex and BBQ, but I can't even get a good po-boy here.

LittleRob 05-30-2009 05:54 AM

I have to say; Darrel's Poboys are the best next to home made, my wife love TexMex so when we eat out it's that, the only place I care to eat in Jennings is Los Tre's Potrilo's it's a TexMex restaurant. I hope I spelled there name right.

LSUh20fowler 05-30-2009 06:44 AM

My favorite place to eat is my my kitchen. But if I have to go somewhere for home cooked food, its "The Pig Stand" in Ville Platte.

Not to mention it was my birthday and my bud Roger was just kept handing to me...You put it in my hand, I'm most likely gonna drink it...They came by us with another birthday cake and me and Roger got up and followed um and was clapping and singing...Then they came to our table later and I got up with my liter margarita with a straw in it and was standing up in the chair dancing and having a good ol' time...At least we're fun drunks...:*****::*****::*****:

I've only eaten casino food when in La. Can someone recommend a good restaurant in either Lake Charles, Kinder, or Shreveport? Those are the cities I tend to go when over there to gamble.

Charlies is re open and the reports I hear are that is better now than before. I don't find dragos very expensive.

Lake Charles...Casa Manana (obviously), Burger Barn (weekdays, get the onion rings!), Pats of Henderson (steaks & seafood, east side of town right off 210, try the stuffed snapper), Nina P's (weekdays & saturday, love the gumbo), Steamboat Bills on the Lake (crawfish or try the house potato).

Kinder...Faustos (burgers and chicken, have a great room full of amazing taxidermy) or Roy's Catfish Hut (ask for the thin and crispy!)

Hebert 05-31-2009 02:01 AM

when i'm in lake charles..i like to go to hackett's for their smoked boudin....
