Brutal assault on referee was the kind of attack that could have done permanent damage. Lifetime ban AND $20K fine each. But watch how it's going to turn out. My guess...a slap on the hand.

The two players should be fined, ejected for life & spend time in jail. Do not know the quality of the ref's, but players have to live with authority and the ref's are the authority of that football game.

I saw that this morning. If football is that important to you then you must have a sad life. It's a game. If you feel the need to hurt someone over a game your life is going to suck. Life is going to hurt you worse.

I am pretty sure that this was a high school game so the athletes are likely underage.

One is a Sr. and one is a Sophmore..... so 17-18 and 15-16 or so. The coach should be fired too, I'm sure he's the one who put the hit the out but thats just speculation on my part.

I remember the Delmon Young incident a few years ago... he slung his bat and smoked the home plate umpire in a minor league game. I thought he should have been banned for life... I think he got 50 games but he got to continue his career and made pretty good money in the majors.

Is it just me or did the ref look like a woman. After watching the slow motion close up of a long flying pony tail and wide hips I was wondering if yall noticed or if tis so. If it is in my world that makes this senceless act all the worse.

The 2 players that hit the ref were lined up WAY out of position. Enough that the coaches should have been on the field yelling at them. also would like to see the reaction when they came off the field. Our coach would have pulled our nads out thru our nose if we did something like that to an official.

I didn't want to throw coaches under the bus for approving the hit but the Coaches lost control on the game. (Or never really had control)

Two John Jay players were ejected from game shortly before the hit.

Only one of the John Jay hit men was ejected; they mistakenly ejected a wrong player.

The remaining "hit man" stayed in game and was penalized for late hit on quarterback taking a knee on the last play.

Assuming what I just said is true; throw the Coaching Staff under the bus too. By letting the "hit man" stay in the game tells me the Coaches condone the players actions.
