It was a pretty day today but the wind was blowing. Put some miles on the boat 200 miles round trip. Lau chef at the the launch in Lydia by the new bridge hit the intracoastal canal all the way to the locks north of the icc canal, nothing! Then we head baback to the small canal west of 4 mile cut to hide from the winds then we cut through fearman lake, stopped at both the wiers by the game camp. Nothing. Then we headed to the weir by hell hole. Then back back through fearman. Same route back to the intracoastal water. Once we hit the icw to the 6 mile trip west to a spot I fished. Got there nothing but cats. Gaftop and channel cats no keepers. Decided to take it in and headed down the ICW back to the launch. Only burned half a tank gas.
Only had 1 victim fall for ththe bait that was worth keeping. Attachment 88069 |

Man, next time you feel like running like that go down to the Humble and smash them big Cats and Bulls that are always lurking under the bridge.

Seriously? 200 miles on less than half a tank of gas. Unless you have one monster of a fuel tank that's pretty dang good.

What's your speed. I can get 4 mpg. Cruising at 3200 rpm at 31 mph Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
My speeds are same as my rpms 3000 30 mph 4000 40mph

I can usually match my rpm/speed under ideal conditions but I don't ever seem to be on the water when conditions are ideal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Regarding mpg, 5.333 with a 175 hp is awesome, no doubt about it. The best that I have ever gotten with my 19 Frontier with a 150 Etec is 4.5, but I normally run about 4 mpg. BTW, with your rpm's "matching" your speed, that's about as perfect as you can get to zero prop slippage. Bet you never sell that Zuke :) Can't wait to get started downloading sonar to send to "Wishing". Awesome project you two conceived of. |
Sorry Speck I get how you did the math. I figured he was talking fuel burned and not size of tank.
There had to be a good explanation because us Chem E's don't make math errors....:grinpimp: |
