My geo-tagging software isn't working at the moment, why don't you just tell me where to go so I don't have to follow you. My boats pretty slow and I wont be able to keep up.

Just a question. Why ruin fishing for other people?

Why not book a trip and get in on the action . . Fish or cut bait . .

Not sure I understand the logic of this comment. My question is if these people are there fishing before you, why ruin it for them? Same as fishing birds right? Don't run up in the middle of a couple boats on a set of birds, just go find another set of birds.

biggun 05-11-2015 04:55 PM

Pics like that; and "W" saying he caught over 2,500 trout last yr tells me Nothing Wrong with BL.

CharlieFoxtrot 05-11-2015 06:07 PM

3-4 years ago there was a wade fishing trip picture on BL that opened up people's eyes.

Anyone remember that thread?

Wade fishing with live bait works but driving to Sabine Pass everyday for bait has to get old.

biggun 05-11-2015 06:34 PM

I think those pic's where about 10 yrs ago...It was a pose of some trout similar to J adams pose.. Then one with twice as many on the floor of the stern of the bayboat with some texas wadee's.

Jadams 05-11-2015 07:12 PM

I always catch big trout in spring just have never brought clients to a few of these spots and had to fish em bc lake was slow

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jadams 05-11-2015 07:13 PM

But if that's what I'm using go try it and cry bout it when u don't catch em!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bdub 05-11-2015 07:21 PM

From a customer/client standpoint I'd much rather have to use bait to catch, then have to reschedule a trip...Guides job is to provide the best opportunity for the client to catch, gotta do what u gotta do to keep the people happy and get the job done....Now that its said, I am useless with live bait, just cant get the hang of it

jl8200 05-11-2015 07:41 PM

Who cares about live bait or artificial especially when its your livelihood? I would think that making clients happy would be the most important thing first. Using live bait may mean getting off the water quicker if bad weather is supposed to roll in later in the day for instance. A guide may choose to use live bait for a bunch of reasons. At the end of the day, fishing is about catching fish. Now having said that I prefer to not have to use live bait as I don't like the hassle. I understand that W's argument is mostly about the skill and sport of using artificial but at the end of the day to each his own I recon.

Clampy 05-11-2015 07:49 PM

If I was a guide and my people wanted to or were inexperienced than I would have no bones about using crickets.
