Any one been on the lake today. how muddy is it. headed out in the morning. any help appreciated thanks

Last week the water in the north end only had about 3-4" visibility but it should be getting better by now. Winds were 15 mph that day.
I think I will go in the morning also. |

dad and his boss gunna be croaker soakers. i rollin with sand eels jr! W done converted me from livey to artificial |
was on the lake this morning. i wish we wouldn't have left the north. we only caught 3 fish before we went to the south but they were very good fish 3,4 and 5 lbs. it was just a slow bite. the water doesn't look bad most spots we stopped. it isn't that pretty green you want to see but it's not bad. w. cove has a bunch of birds but the fish that are under then are very small. i am talking small acquiriam small. i think stay north is a good thing, you will see a large number of boats, so prepare to be socialable.

Yep...try the super cut good water yesterday...

yea super cut yesterday...... only problem was the 2-3 foot swells. Is it just me or does everything the weather man says mean the opposite.
|
What's the super cut?
This forum is doing a real good job of sportsman helping out fellow sportsman - I really like the change! |

headin to the "spot" Friday if its calm..north wind 5-10 mph.. going in a 17 ft aluminum with a 50 (steering console) never took it to the weirs..should be nice |
The super cut? is there one on east and west side way south?
|
"ITS MY SPECK IN BOX!!!"
Super cut is the first cut into big lake heading south down the ship channel |

well we fished there. I hope everybody did better than i did. we only ended up with about 4 keepers. 2 of them was between 3 to 4 pounds. no limits but 4 more than i normally catch i'll figure this out eventually

it was very muddy south. we rode to the jetties water was clear there also a few spots in west cove had clear water. Passed by the wiers you couldn't have put another boat in there turners was pretty full too. figured if i am going to learn this i should go ahead and find my own spots and not try to fight them crowds

Super Cut
Ok, I am trying to figure this out too. The super cut is south of turners right? Is it the first cut south of turners?
|

The only cut south of Texaco that I can think of is the washout..lol
|
I went Wednesday, same deal...Turners was packed but the water was good and caught a few trout LOTS of fingermullet on the reefs around the island. Ran down to the washout before the wind picked up. Picked up one red and worked some birds(more birds than fish!) 4 groups of 20-40 birds each 7 boats, and only saw 4 trout caught all small. Wind really started blowing, so I decided to call it a day.
