I hate Pinterest

For those that have wives, girlfriends or significant others that are obsessed with this site know exactly what I am talking about. My wife constantly talks about "ideas" and "projects" she wants to do off Pinterest. Well guess who gets to complete 90% of those projects? Yep, yours truly because it usually involves building something.

The latest project is almost complete after a bit more stain. After a few weeks of working on here and there plus a few (thousand) cuss words, I'm over Pinterest. But don't worry, she's already told me she has the next thing she wants me to do! FANTASTIC HONEY - CANT WAIT!!!

At least on this one there is a place for my beverages!

looks cool, but I'm still lost on what it is. Table with some super secret cubby holes? That's what I'd use it for lol

They are plastic planter boxes in the middle that can be used as ice chest or you can cover them up and have a full table. I prefer the first option of course Attachment 69980

thats pretty slick actually. By far not the worst thing I have seen on my wife's pinterest. Would make a good crawfish eating table

Bobbynofish 06-25-2014 10:11 AM

Yeah I have had my fair share of "bad" projects too haha

That's what I thought it was at first, with slots in it to throw the shells into.

Bobbynofish 06-25-2014 10:19 AM

Awesome job Bobbynofish. I have found myself doing these damn Pintrest projects more times than I'd like to admit. Even if it's the wife that does them, I still have to pay for the material. In some way shape or form, those projects will affect me.

MathGeek 06-25-2014 10:57 AM

I'm just glad my wife doesn't expect me to look like those pinup boys plastered all over pinterest.

Real men have curves.

duckman1911 06-25-2014 11:14 AM

Looks good Bobby.
Just wait till its time for you to cash in all those brownie points you're earning.

Bobbynofish 06-25-2014 11:23 AM

Pintrest is the the worst. My girlfriend has at least 40 engagement rings that "she is just in love with". FML. But for the past 3 years around November, she makes me get on hers and make a thing with all the stuff I need for hunting season. I guess she orders it straight from there. She said it really makes it easier on her (Minimal knowledge of outdoor gear lol), and I get what I want for Christmas without seeming like an a-hole and straight up telling her what to get lol.

LMAO, I'm only laughing because my wife had me build the same thing but in a picnic table for the kids. I know you can't see it from this picture but the center pulls out and there is plastic gutter in there. The thing you'll find is one ice melts quick in south Louisiana with no insulation or top and two it'll never get used except to grow mold. I drilled holes in the corners of my gutter so it wouldn't hold water. Next weeks pinterest project is an accent wall with different lengths, widths, and stains. Can't wait :help:.

Bobbynofish 06-26-2014 08:33 AM

Sounds fun Shawn....said no one ever! Haha

Just last night wife showed me a pic of this old refrigerator turned into a big ice chest. Kinda cool, but wouldn't get much use maybe once or twice a year

you can take the girl out of Union Parish, but you can't take the Union Parish out of the girl:rotfl:

My wife ask me to build stuff from there all the time. I say no problem. When she ask what I thing it would cost I allways tell her 3 or 4 hundred dollars. She is a tightass and i know she would never spend that kind of money .

Bobbynofish 06-26-2014 03:13 PM

Hmmmm you may be on to something....

Now we're cooking. Don't forget to include a reasonable hourly wage for your labor, or at least lots of refreshment while you're planning and working on the project.

You sly SOB.......... I'm putting this in my mental library underneath the "Excuses" section.

One inadvertent trick I did learn was to start the project and let it sit unfinished for a month or two. Eventually it becomes "my project" that's scattered on the porch. It usually gives me a few months break from her asking for anything else.

If #1 fails this is also a deterrent for the next project.
