If you added info to your post's of just pics then we would know what message you were trying to relay to us. I had nothing to go on.

Such as " hey guys, just a reminder to be safe on the water. Never know when something like this will happen"

Oops! 06-23-2014 11:20 PM

I have only pulled one buddy in off the lake before. When we tied on we made a bridal that connected to both my tie down cleats. So I don't have much experience in this. Is it good to pull from just one like the pic above? How fast should you tow with either set up. Just above idle or right past on step? Would be helpful info.

Natural Light Kid 06-23-2014 11:30 PM

Can't lie. Just saw this and when I first saw the pic I was wondering how the guy felt about the photo opp while he was in that predicament. Didn't see until further down on the thread that you even knew we the guy and then you explained a little more.

Wide Open 06-24-2014 12:00 AM

Just use a ill common sense! How many well know capt.'s would get on a major web site that they drum buiss. Off of and dog sum poor dude down on his luck! A simple question of w t f? Happened here would sum it up!
Think about the thread title, it's obviously got sum humor to it?

jlincecum 06-24-2014 04:52 AM

nice save capt. just because you have a boat and spent years on the water, doesn't mean nothing can happen to you. Respect the weather and your equipments limitations and make sure everyone comes home safe.

It depends on the situation and the elements. I usually try to get them on plane if possible. In this situation, I am sure that Jared had to get them going fast enough to get the water out of the boat.

BassYakR 06-24-2014 07:43 AM

just like anything else... before you get butt hurt and post something negative about the man that did something good. Find out more facts on your own.

Nice post, nice pic. I had a buddy come tow me in. I was stuck on a mud flat. And didn't get in till after midnight. Been boating over 40 years. You never know wrong turn, big wave, all kinds of hazards. You did a good thing. God bless you!

Gottogo49 06-25-2014 08:12 AM

I thought that looked like a shrimp trawl beside the swamped boat.
Pulling in a shrimp trawl in rough water is a tricky deal.
If you go over the side and get hung up in the net it can be real bad.
Glad that Jared was able to help the man.

It only took one comment to banish himself from the forum(and I didn't think the comment was all that harsh to begin with.) I'd hate to see if someone said something REALLY offensive to him. Gotta have a thicker skin than that these days. I just think the whole thing is overblown to begin with. But hey, that's just me.

Duck Butter 06-25-2014 09:32 AM

Had that been one of my buddies, I would have done the same thing. made sure he got out alright, and then post his pics to his facebook page and poke fun. If it would have been me, my friends would have put that up on a billboard:rotfl:

MarshRat89 06-25-2014 09:56 AM

To answer the question posted on page 1-----When towing it is always best to tow from the center of the boat thus a bridle is the way to tow. I have one on all my boats all ready to go if needed. Each is made just for that particular boat.
