Gotta be, cause they don't weigh fish in Texas. They only go by inches

hayden1414337 03-23-2014 07:06 AM

Gotta be 9+. I caught one last year in March in Sabine 30 1/2" and it was 9.4. Awesome fish.

"W" 03-23-2014 08:23 AM

Yep Texas fish, they only use inches and not lbs

Never understood the point of How long a fish is?? All I care is what it weights

One time I caught a 24" 2.75lb fish in LNG. I'd much rather a short heavy fish then a long skinny one

Clampy 03-23-2014 08:30 AM

I caught one in west cove that was 28.5" and weighed 5.98lb

In certain aspects of life, length is very important

how much does a mount usually cost?

fisheye 03-24-2014 01:03 AM

Very nice fish!

Length vs girth....age old argument lol

Lol....I bet the fist 8 u hook up with is going on that freshly renovated wall!!

Most of my money is spent on fishing, fishing tackle, & boats... The rest is wasted.

BassYakR 03-24-2014 07:38 AM

When I get one over 8.... im mounting it.

The kid holding the 25" fish must be about 4' tall.

I think the beard is what made that guy catch that 30"er. Trout Dynasty!

ThePinkBanana 03-24-2014 10:13 AM

Haha you right Donnie. I think I paid Steve German 450, but I had him do some different things to it. It is a a amazing looking mount. Need to see it in person to appreciate the detail.

Garfish 03-24-2014 11:28 AM

Helluva trout!

BMTAngler 03-30-2014 02:46 AM

Nice trout, and I think most of the guys over here that only measure a fish instead of paying much attention to the weight is because weight fluctuates but the length doesnt.

Ken K 03-30-2014 01:17 PM

Kudos on releasing that beauty - we need to keep fish like that in the gene pool!

To me that is stupid....who really cares how long a fish is, Last time I looked records were measured in pounds and ounces not length

You can have a 5lb 30inch trout...that Is pretty much nothing but a another one for the box.....

Or a 25inch 8lber that you can brag about ???

So to me and most la guys the length of a trout means ZERO

what she said....lol

mr crab 03-30-2014 06:11 PM

just different strokes for different folks i guess.....i always talk about trout in terms of inches. Most guys I know do too. TX thing I guess. I guess it cuz everybody has a ruler around...not everybody has a fish scale
