Vbay sharks

Seems to be more sharks than ever in the bay. I've fished the bay my whole life and have never seen/caught as many sharks as I have this year. Is anyone else seeing this?

Btw, first post on the site.... Joined a few months back, good stuff.

Welcome. I've alway seen sharks this time of year.

Use artificial baits. No sharks that way. You throw dead shrimp and you're gonna catch sharks and catfish.....and no, not GULP

At least it helps kinda keep the sharks off. We only threw artificial and we still had to deal with them.

Until you hook something, then your fishing with live bait!

I was skimming this guy on top, then he got death rolled.

That water sure is pretty for VB. Was that outside the pass?

I caught quite a few in the pass two weeks ago. They put up a good fight, fun to catch.

The river is dropping and the salinity is coming up...trout bout to be thick thick in the bay. For whatever reason once shrimp season opens back up the trout fishing gets good in the bay.

Need to follow me, apparently I'm a shark magnet. Caught 3 yesterday, and had to reel in the small reds quick to avoid what Goooh showed in his pics. I was with him when that happened, it looked like shark week on Discovery out there!

Caught a few trout at Diamond Reef this morning and plenty of sharks. A few Gaffs, also. Nicer water than I usually get to see on my days off! Fished artificial with occasional dead shrimp sweetener. Sharks sure are fun to catch, especially when on a reef and they make water-blistering runs!

We have caught them in the atchafalaya by butte la rose on catfish lines. I know they also catch them way up north by simmsport locks.

We hooked 4 black fin sharks this past Saturday in the bay and landed two!

There was clean water in the bay and you can tell the salinity is getter much higher.
