Weidman knocks out silva!
BOOM!!!!!!
Your kidding!
Awesome!
it looks like he was taunting and being arrogant and it lost him the fight! Pride always comes before the fall!
He definitely did not respect weidman. He was dancing around, holding his hands down, and telling weidman to hit him. Well he did just that! Rolled his eyes back in his head! When silva fell, his head .bounced off the mat
Missed it but, glad to hear it!
The way he talked after the fight sounds like he wanted to loose.
Silva had it coming to him.
He was pulling his regular bs taunting him and being cocky the whole fight
I was happy with the outcome, just wish it would have went a few more rounds.
When can we expect to see the fight on regular TV?
the true test for silva is what he does now that he is not champ. he will either rise back up or get his bell rung again.
remember chuck liddell? once he started to lose he couldn't win. he should of went go talk to Apallo Creed!!!!!!!!!!! |
Considering that he is 38 years old, I don't see a lot of "rise to the top" left with Silva.
does randy coltoure ring a bell? lol
I've said for some time now that Silva would lose when he was ready to lose. Granted being cocky finally caught him but, I don't think he's anywhere near done. I'd bet his next fight lacks the arrogant antics he's so famous for and, loads up to beat the heck out of someone.
I don't even care for the guy but, he is an amazing fighter! |
He needed to lose. His cockiness has gotten to be to much. He will rematch Weidman and destroy him. He is still the best fighter in that weight class by a large margin.
Lots of good fights last night. Yeah Silva definitely got too cocky
Right before the punch seemed to be his cocky moment, then boom. Done.
Like blue said, wish it'd have went longer |
He threw the fight
watching that clip frame by frame, Silvas head never moved when he caught a supoosed knockout blow???

BINGO!!!!!!!!!! And prolly cashed more than if he had been declared the winner. |
Sheeet!! its about dayum time!!! I thought Chale Soenin had a better chance than Weideman though...Ive always enjoyed watching Weideman from his very first fights, he has always been considered an underdog. But it probably will be a short lived title...

He got beat the first round before he ever started to act cocky. I think he realized he actually had someone to worry about after round 1
I don't think he threw I don't the silva was in it mentally with all the hype and build up to this fight, I'm glad weidman won and you have to hand it to him he's a class act silva taunted him after wiedman beet him down the first round and then wiedman hugs him after the round was very funny

He looked like he was trying to move his head back to his right as the left hook hit his chin... It wasn't a vicious left but he was ROCKED!!!
And if that left hook wasn't enough, the straight right as he was on the ground was plenty! As far as "throwing the fight"... I thought he looked a little odd throughout the fight but he is a very odd fighter... nothing nothing nothing and then BAM! your nose is sideways (ask Rich Franklin) |

Suppose you were instructed to "throw" a fight, would you rather do it in the first round when you got put in a decent ankle hold, or let a pro fighter punch you in the chin? Think about that. Quote:

He is very cocky, but I really think his normal game plan back fired. All that taunting is the plan. It gets in the heads of his opponents and takes them off their game. Weidman did a great job of keeping his cool and not letting Silva get in his head and he caught him.
I'm not taking anything away from Weidman. He is a great fighter, but the rematch won't last 2 minutes. Silva will knock his head off. |

Weidman is a pretty well rounded and gifted athlete... He can and will hang in there with anyone in that division... Will he beat them all? NO Will he beat Silva in a rematch?... That remains to be seen but he did do a pretty darn good job the first time around even without the knockout punch he was winning the fight on my card. |
