You got some small hands.

J/K nice skrimps right there.

About 4 or 4 years ago the COE did some work in Lake Boudreaux, they put in some rocks, it trapped a ****load of shrimp behind the rocks and you could go with a cast net and load the boat down behind the rocks. Towards the end of the run they were all over 20 count shrimp.

Hit em like that in Grand Isle on year; specks were chasing them right on the beach. Put the rod down and started castnetting for shrimp instead; filled up a lil small ice chest.

YellowMouth7 06-18-2013 09:01 AM

WOW that awesome

FF_T_Warren 06-18-2013 09:14 AM

did that in grand isle myself a few years back. we caught 150qt ice chest level full of shrimp that big with no ice. Had to go buy an ice chest so we could split it and add ice

Slidellkid 06-18-2013 09:50 AM

Yep!

The flounder will be flopping in 2 inches of water trying to eat em. Then you use a dip net and catch the flounder too!!

This is interesting, my boss was telling me of this one time he was surf fishing GI and 10 count shrimp were all up on the beach with flounder right behind em, caught his 10 flounder by hand and filled up everything he had with big shrimp. He said at first he thought an apocalypse was happening or something:rotfl: He didn't know what caused this, he thought it had something to do with a dead zone or something and the fish/shrimp were trying to get away from it

note to self: postpone July work in Grand Isle until north winds blow in August

How many pounds can you catch at the jetties? I know its just 25 lbs in Rockerfeller.

Jadams 06-18-2013 06:58 PM

Montauk17 06-18-2013 07:19 PM

Man that's some beasts...made some killer kabobs

cajun bill 06-18-2013 08:37 PM

Happens once a year in different parts of the coast. I hear that Mobile residents have an alarm system set up so that when the Jubilee starts, alarms go off everywhere so everyone can head to the beaches to scoop uf fish, shrimp, crabs, etc. I experienced it once at G.I. We filled about 5 ice chests with shrimp caught by hand with a trawl we dragged down the beach. The skrimps weren't big, but there sure were plenty of them.

Patt 06-19-2013 09:52 AM

Guy did the same thing over the weekend at the jetties. His sports went home with some big shrimp
