Da' Rock for Crabs....
 

The Wife (Boss) and my mother wanted to boils some crabs for Saturday evening. So I head to the camp Friday evening. Drop my first of five rounds nets in the water for 07:30 Saturday morning, with a few hands lines. We had our limit by 09:30. Back at the camp for 10 am, 12 dozen nice crabs.

Catch any fish or was it only crabs

While crabbing, I tried few casts for reds/flounder...no luck. Mainly was targeting crabs for the little lady... very little bait movement.

we'll give it a try! Just got our boat last summer, salt water fishing new animal for us. We'll check out LSU Sunday, Saturday looks like a washout. Thanks!

had friends that went on wednesday and caught a limit in 2 hrs. Bad thing was they were empty.

It is amazing how in a few days, crabs can go from being full of meat... To being empty. Guess I was lucky on the timing...

We went today. Went to the Dam further back on the right (LSU) and did OK. 105 crabs medium and were mostly full.
Our friends that went on wednesday went to the first big cement dam.

We went to LSU yesterday as well. 12 dozen in 2 hours and they were full. Rusty what time were you okt there?

I was first one there and stayed till around 11am.

Nice kids you got there. And just to set the record straight they caught ALL of your crabs and most of mine. LOL. I enjoyed visiting with yall. Were you able to get al the mud out of the boat or just throw it away?

made it to Rock Sunday early afternoon. Started at LSU and caught 4+ dozen in about 3 hours. While there someone else hooked about a 18" red. Stopped by cement weir on way out but no luck, it was getting pretty late by then.

rbertrand...Thanks for the report...Did you catch any bait? My next trip to the camp...I plan to chase some tails...would love to have Live Bait on board...

did castnet a few times, plenty of croakers, cocahoes, very few shrimp. Also had good bit of small crabs swimming by weir while fishing. Good luck on your next trip and thanks for giving me some pointers!
