Trip looked fine. Don't let this discourage you. He's just a puppy, he was tne youngest dog in the field by far. He's gonna be the man the older he gets.

U almost look like u know whatcha doing.
Sorry I couldn't help you last week, young dog + young handler = sometimes crash and burn.

ckinchen 02-24-2013 10:30 AM

Good experience for you Shawn, Trip is going to be a great dog. You are putting the time and effort in and that will pay off.

Apparently there's a sweet smelling female or two in the same flight as me because his nose is planted to the ground. It's been he!! lining him up for the blind.

Its one of the pros there, Jan made him run last in the 2nd flight yesterday due to that

Not sure I'd call it a crash and burn, we just missed the landing a tad, I was just in over my head, should have entered Junior I guess. With a dog that runs blinds and handles it could have been an easy ribbon lol.

I would expect nothing less from him! I take it as a compliment!

It was a compliment, they both train good but you can't get a correction on game day. I was nervous as hell 16 yrs ago for my first test and also crashed. Shawn and trip have a whole lot more advantages than I did back then. They only failed 1/2 the test and I didn't get to see their job so it probably isn't as bad as Shawn has described. For a guy with 2 young kids and job across the river he has done an exceptional job not to mention being handicapped by having to train with me.

Wow and on an open forum, I'll take that all day long. I have learned alot in these last 13 months and would never have had a hound like I do without your help, thanks.
