For real?????????????????

My neighbor bought his 18 year-old son a truck today. It's a 2009 Ford F-150 Lariat 4X4. The truck is tricked out to the max and looks really nice. He called me over this afternoon to see what I thought about the truck. He was tellin' me what a "great deal" he got and I said, "What? How much?" He opened the door...I sat in the driver's seat. When he turned the key and the instrument panel lit up.....I saw why he got such a "great deal". :smokin:

147,300 miles!!! Is it humanly possible to put that many miles on a vehicle in that period of time? He said, "It's just broke in good".

southern151 08-21-2012 08:04 PM

My 03 only has 171k on it and I did all but 40k of it. Waaaaay too many miles for me to want it at that age!

Swlatiger 08-21-2012 10:44 PM

Bought my 05 in 2006 with 17k on it. Last October I turned 190k. That's almost 35k a yr just back and forth from Sulphur to Jennings so I could see oil field guys or outside salesmen rolling up 50k a yr.

Big Kahunaz 08-21-2012 10:44 PM

09 model probably bought in 08....but yeah....lot of miles
my truck is 5 months old and i put 36k on it already running the gulf coast making sales calls...
so i'd say its possible

meaux fishing 08-21-2012 11:00 PM

LPfishnTIM 08-21-2012 11:15 PM

I bought a 05 last year with 28k miles on it. it has 56K on it now.
I live 3 miles from work now so I'll keep the miles off of it, til I go fishing on saturday I'll drive 250 miles round trip.

barbarian 08-21-2012 11:25 PM

I've been averaging about 45K a year for the last 8 years.

bgizzle 08-22-2012 06:39 AM

bgizzle 08-22-2012 06:39 AM

I'm the only owner

bearwash87 08-22-2012 06:48 AM

I got my truck in March with less than 100 miles on it. I've got 20,000 now.

bearwash87 08-22-2012 06:50 AM

And my dads 09 duramax has close to 200,000 not sure exactly how many miles though.

catch.and.fillet 08-22-2012 06:51 AM

I bought my 04 F150 for my son in late 05 with 74,000 miles. It was a fleet truck the dealer acquired at auction. While he wrecked it twice over 3 years, and each window motor has gone out, I've had no mechanical issues. I drive it on weekends now and it's got 161,000 miles. I'll be looking to replace it next year. Might consider another high mileage young fleet truck for a cash deal.

swamp snorkler 08-22-2012 07:08 AM

Salty thats about 40,000 miles a year if he bought it in 08 which is quite possible.

jaclyn.renea 08-22-2012 07:31 AM

My parents have a 04 F-150 they bought new off the lot. While my dad was deployed, I bumped it over the 100K mark. :) It probably has aroung 140K now.
Only ever had one big issue with it where a coupe of coils went out.

mcjaredsandwich 08-22-2012 07:42 AM

147k on my 2000 s10.
