I was in Galveston all day today fishing the beach and I have a cooler full of whiting/channel mullet along with a couple puppy drum and a slot redfish to clean this evening. Tried for trout but the water was too muddy and choppy so I went after meat fish. Most of the whiting/channel mullet were over 12 inches. Biggest today was about 16 inches. My daughter caught one a few weeks ago right at 20 inches. We both thought it was a redfish at first. I catch em like crazy in the surf all during the year on live and dead bait shrimp and load the cooler. No creel or size limit and they taste mighty fine! |

i am also pretty sure, they are, or related to the california corbina. or beans as they say in socal. we used to those on holly beach during the dead of winter. they make great surf bait for sharks and bulls.
|

:rotfl:, never 'catch' one but they catch em in Grand Isle commonly |
