Which line to use?
Which line do y'all use for your crankbait rod braid or fluorocarbon?

floro. but i dont mind mono because the crank will get that line down and i like the stretch of the mono
|
I like fluro if u r trying to get more depth out if the crank, and throw it on a fiberglass crankin rod, mono good for the strech like Armand said.
|
First you need a Haynie then get you a Waterloo and throw mono . . . . . ALL DAY BRUH

the size line helps get it to the right depth, 8-10ld line gets it down the deepest 12-14 ld line keeps it in a mid range and anything heavier will keep from it from going down and dampens the action. |
What in the world is ld line?

Neither..........stick with mono. Only thing I use braid on is a 7ft Heavy flipping stick for thick $%!+
|
I use 10lb mono big game
Use 20lb fins braid for topwater and corky fishing only |

I started using flouro on the causeway 14 lb I think, box is gone so not xactly sure...
I like it; don't fray as much as the mono rubbing aginst the pylons. Normal fishing I use 10 or 12 lb big game. Bought a big spool of each from academy this past fall.... Won't need line for years!! Power pro 15 lb for top water with a 15 or 20 lb leader 6-7 ft long. Bass fishing I use power pro for jigs , frogs and top water. Mono for spinner baits and buzz baits & shallow crank baits. Flouro for deep crank baits or rattle traps |

leader 6 or 7 ft long w t f??? Just spool up with mono....
Reeling in s leader knot will mess your eyes on rod up Leader is only tied about 12-18inches long |

W I know what u saying but I tie line to line. Don't use a swivel. The knot is very smooth and passes thru the eyes with no issue. If it catches in eyes when I let the bait free fall I retie the knot and get it smooth. |
I think we over think line as fisherman......
My grandad hauled in more pounds of fish then many of us could possibly top and he fished with Ande' 10 pound for everything from bass, the redfish and all in between. I fish the smallest diameter I can and I change often. big game is my favorite, it's consistent. It's amazing what you can boat with just 8 pound line. |

I accidentally used flouro once and my bait looked drunk!! Took a while to realize I had tied on flouro. |

mono... 10lb to get it where it needs to be. braid only through grass/thick stuff.... i.e. rippin rattle traps, jigs, swim jigs. fluoro only for finecky fish or finesse baits like shaky heads, carolina rigs.

I use 12 lb all around. Braid on Carolina, jigs, worms, traps. Mono for everything else. If you want the bait to run deeper, go with 10 lb flouro. |
