If you did your deductions right throughout the year, you shouldn't have anything to dread.

Jordan 01-12-2012 10:26 AM

Use a tax service and you will get way more back. Ive been getting three times as much going to H&R Block instead of turbo tax.

Built a house three years ago. Have to pay the credit back 500 a year for the next 15 years . My daughter turned 17 so i lose that child tax credit -$1000. Plus my wife finally got a good job so now we are in a higher tax bracket. So im so excited about my taxes this year.

Tonka337 01-12-2012 12:39 PM

Any of you boys working overseas? I'll pay a small fortune to keep our well needed welfare recipients full of beer and cigarettes for a year or two! Can't wait to file!!!!!!:work:

Tight lines to you fellas!

Top Dawg 01-12-2012 01:07 PM

Beware of h&r block they are owned by the IRS. Will get more back if you go to an independent service.

Top Dawg 01-12-2012 01:08 PM

Also I was wondering. I got married last year. So do I get to claim married on my return. Also she doesn't work.

Go to the office. The good thing is you don't pay anything unless you file. Try to use the same person every year too, it makes it easier and also make an appt.

southern151 01-12-2012 02:51 PM

Or, hire a site sponsor for all your tax preparation needs!;)

I've only got about another 20 vendors to go through before I have most of my stuff put together to send to "Chicken."

jaclyn.renea 01-12-2012 03:10 PM

H&R Block tried to make me pay 3x more last year. And my refund was about the same to begin with.

Ray 01-12-2012 03:11 PM

Without any deductions, except a few minor ones. I do mine myself.
Before Rita, I hunted gators and had some cattle. Had some good deductions back then.
Now, only me, wife and house. And house is almost paid for, so that will be going away soon.

Russell046 01-12-2012 03:23 PM

I need to find someone new this year, the lady that was taking care of mine got caught not doing her taxes. WOW!!
Just not sure now who to go to. If anyone has any suggestions around the Breaux Bridge, lafayette area it would be a big help. Thanks

Again, we have a site sponsor that may be able to help. They are located in TX but, they handle my stuff here in LA. Pretty simple too since most of it we did over the phone or, electronically. Click on the sponsor tab and shoot em an email or call. They'll steer you in the right direction, I assure you.;)

.....

A good qualified CPA is better than H & R Block.... I tripled my money back when I went to a CPA... It cast a bit more than Block but the return is more than worth the extra expense... Again, notice I said qualified... One that will stand behind their work and make sure it is right and "legit"...

Keywest18 01-13-2012 03:34 PM

darn, wish i wouldve read this earlier. i just did my taxes at h&r.still happy with my return anount though.

soapman 01-13-2012 11:11 PM
