New project on Calcasieu River.....
18 wheelers have been hauling loads of Mats down to the VERY end of south Perkins for 2 days now.. 3 marsh buggys, an airboat aswell.. thinking a new site of an oil rig possibly? Anyone hear of anything else? Talked to one of the boys unloading the mats, he claims he knew nothing.

I think you are correct.
Can those tank car bridges down there carry that heavy of a load, when they bring in the drilling rig? +1 |

He gots money, he gets what ever he wants.
It won't be him drilling. If there is no oil or gas there, no company will drill. Was there any seismic work going on in that area in the past couple years? |

Not in the past couple of years that I'm aware of, Fool would he able to answer that better for South Perkins Ferry. All of Moss Bluff has been done in the past 20 years. There have been a few drilled towards the north end of North Perkins Ferry.

Definitely a drilling rig, they are suppose to start bringing dirt in Monday or Tuesday for the pad

I noticed all the pink ribbon tape on the road sign which is a pretty good indicator or oil rig

Jim use to be big into Duck hunting in his "little burns" land along the river. I tried to get permission to Bow hunt on his land..... but got turned down. He did not want anyone on his property. |
Maybe reading wrong...but what is the problem with drilling??? just curious, ive made a good living off the oilfield and dont see anything wrong, or is it just the traffic in/out of yall's area??

He is just leasing the land and getting the royalties. Anyone with a good brain cell would do the same.
Seismic companies do the seismic work, sell the data to oil companies, oil companies hit up land owners for the rites. If they get them, they drill. Mestretta doesn't go out and ask them to drill on his land. He doesn't pay them either. They have to woo him to get on his land. Being a land owner has it's good points. |

I don't care if they drill, but man thats gonna be a lot of traffic!!!! At least their driving the speed limit as of now!!!
|
Old Mistretta always making money....... He's supposed to have the bar and grill open before March, a bait stand also. You can't miss it it's right next to the 105ft yacht!!!!!
|
not sure you can make that much off one gas well. my gramma had a gas well drilled on her land in east tx that produces. you make a bit off the lease, but you don't really get crap off royalties.

I do know there is a 18 inch Hydrogen line being run from Port Neches to Plaqumine. They are in the parish now running the line. It belongs to Air Product company. I know way too well how difficult Mastreda can be. I don't like him at all! All you Moss Bluff people should thank him for he allows you to live on his land of Moss Bluff.
