What do yall think

Well I have emailed someone about getting a custom rod made and was wanting a price from this person and I have not heard anything back from them. How long should I wait before I start to bash them for not responding back to me.

PaulMyers 01-06-2012 08:47 PM

Why bash them? Maybe try sending another email or give them a call.

Are they a member of this site?
If so I say never.

Dink 01-06-2012 08:54 PM

To many builders around to wait for someone. One of these guys will want and earn your business.

Sometimes a call is better than an e-mail and you can discuss exactly what you want .....better rod build

BIG RED 1983 01-07-2012 01:31 AM

So if you are displeased with a sponsor you cannot voice your displeasure?

redaddiction 01-07-2012 01:40 AM

You wanna bash someone just because they didn't return your email? Dang, man!! Try calling the guy. Whatever happened to good ole human contact and patience?

LPfishnTIM 01-07-2012 01:52 AM

I know a couple rod builders, most have full time jobs and build rods on there off time. I give em 2 days for a call back and 1 day for email, I wouldn't bash them. and I've had rods built that were custom and it took them 2 weeks for a finished delivered rod.

no, these people pay top dollar to sponsor the site, why would the site allow someone to bash them in open forum? if there is a problem with a sponsor, pm the company with your complaint or Ckinchen may can help getting in contact with someone who can help you! its whats best for the site!

BIG RED 1983 01-07-2012 02:08 AM

I agree with you lp was just wondering

I have tried (unsuccessfully) to get in touch with Jenny for 3 years, she won't answer her phone. Told me it was 867-5309, but:confused:

Harley123 01-07-2012 11:30 AM

I have made a few other contacts about who it is and I am just going to calm down and be patient and see what happens if I am not happy about it I just wont buy one from

BIG RED 1983 01-07-2012 11:52 AM

Although it is great to support a sponsor their are other fish in the sea. Wait it out and see what happens.

Don't offer email if your not going to respond

RigRatNoMeaux 01-07-2012 02:07 PM

To clear all of the confusion. The email was sent to my spam folder. Which I don't check on a daily basis. Hotmail is notorious for sending stuff to the spam folder I was told. If anyone doesn't hear back from us within a day or so. PM me on here or give me a call. I would never intentionally ignore someone's email.

BassAssasin 01-07-2012 02:11 PM

Hotmail has to be the worst for sending emails to the junk mail folder. Try gmail, it has some pretty good filters.

Problem solved and they have handled it in a very profasionial way as far as I am concerned. I will be purchasing one of there rods if not more. Thanks for the input guys and for those that helped thanks again

Bluechip 01-07-2012 05:27 PM

Glad everything worked out for you.

Sea-Trac Offshore 01-07-2012 07:17 PM

So many people these days that build rods. Do your homework and look at rods they build before you buy. Many people get the same blanks, eyes, and such throw it together in their garage and call it a custom rod for double the price.

Do your homework. Some custom companies are great and others are junk.

I have been using Matthews Custom Rods. He will walk you through what you want and the ones I have are great. They are top quality, great finish, and best of all catch fish! haha

I think the only reason to get a custom rod is for the placement of guides and which type you want. I get spiral rods made with 12-14 guides on a rod. there isn't a mass produced rod that is spiral with that many guides. and if there is I bet it cost way more then what I pay for a rod.

Why do you get so many guides?

The more guides the more sensitivity, and the more distribution of weight down the rod, less chance of a rod breaking,

bayouchub 01-07-2012 11:03 PM

The more guides on a rod actually dampen sensitivity.
