BayBolt23 12-29-2011 06:27 PM

Sat will most likely be similar to today.

Tide will be coming in all day sat so it shouldnt be too bad. Good luck to ya jordan

Jordan 12-29-2011 06:38 PM

might need some tips Jared. Havent been to the lake in a month or so. We did pretty good thanks to the birds working, but other than that, we would've skunked.

"W" 12-29-2011 06:40 PM

you just have to adjust from Turners when the tide comes in.... You can catch a ton of fish late in the afternoon but its not in Turners.....

Nasty 12-29-2011 06:41 PM

I was out there in the fog...like you said scattered...ended with 8 specks, 1 flounder...ended morning at 11:00.

mcjaredsandwich 12-29-2011 06:42 PM

Tide fell a couple inches today, was nearly slack. Would pick up 2 here and 2 there. No real consistency.

Nasty 12-29-2011 06:43 PM

I am thinking afternoon would be better... tide is falling then?

No Tide is coming in...... Think about it..... if your catching in one area good when the tide is falling...... Where would you go when the tide is coming back in???? all that bait that left is pushing back in the lake.....

mcjaredsandwich 12-29-2011 06:47 PM

Depends on the day/moon phase. This afternoon it was supposed to be coming in, but didnt notice if it did

We were off the water by 3. My tide chart is a little different. Plus thats at cal pass, farthest place from turners. Texaco dock in hackberry is closer.

mcjaredsandwich 12-29-2011 07:12 PM

just trying to help....All the guides I texted had 45 - 60 trout before noon today

redaddiction 12-29-2011 07:17 PM

Why use tide charts? Except for days or weeks out to plan a trip. Why not use the real time water data? If you're going tomorrow just look at what it is today and adjust accordingly.

Around Turners Bay high tide was at midnight and it slowly fell all day till about an hour ago.

here's the link.
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/la/nwis/uv...te_no=08017095

Here's the complete list of stations for all of Louisiana. It shows salinity also for areas along the coast.
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/la/nwis/current/?type=flow

Nasty 12-29-2011 07:19 PM

It dropped until 12 noon at jetties...then came in after at jetties? Turner's would be 5 hours behind? Kept falling until 5 p.m. at Turner's today? Or, am I wrong.

redaddiction 12-29-2011 07:21 PM

Your absolutely correct. Here's the real time reading for the jetties.

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/la/nwis/uv...te_no=08017118

Go to the list of all stations and find the one you want. Change the output parameters to what you want and.....voila!!

I will probably piss some people off but this will all change in days anyway

When Tide Slacked up north I would of fished in the BLUE Area where I knew tide was moving.....Not saying you would load the boat but you would have 100% better chance of getting action....

mcjaredsandwich 12-29-2011 07:41 PM

Lesson learnt. Check all locations next time. Just stuck to where my gps hit. Will apply next go round.

You been in a helping mood lately. Jigheads and now tide info.

Well I figure if people would learn a few things it would keep them from running all over the lake and running over people fishing and at the end of the day....everybody might be happy.....

90% of people don't even know what a tide is that fish on the lake.....They think you just throw dead shrimp out and look for boats....

Boat bread boats...... I can promise the picture I took the other day of all the boats....... only about 3 actually knew the structure of what we were fishing and how to fish it.... the rest just followed

and when a few boats would move...so would the followers....

Yeah you right....if everyone would learn how to drift with the tide and wind it would be much nicer too.

mcjaredsandwich 12-29-2011 07:52 PM

Im by no means a "pilgrim" when it comes to boat and etiquitte on the water. Only been fishing the lake since nov 2010 and its been weekends at that. Still learning. Catching more fish so its getting more enjoyable.

Just want to say thanks to W, that's pretty good info for ppl who don't get to fish the lake often. I will never crowd any boat and I would say that I give everyone on the water plenty respect and space when fishing. I wish I could say ppl do the same for me. Last Monday some idiot saw me catch a fish, the next cast he was right in front of us in my drift. I shared a few harsh words, then slung a jighead into the back of his left shoulder. Most assholish move I've ever seen and that was the second time he messed up our fishing. No telling how many other ppl he pissed off that day.

Got a TX boat... So I thought he was from there. At one point he was close enough for me to read his numbers and almost cast in the boat with a 1/16 jig head

Were they TX numbers? If so, then I am wrong...

Damn W, thanks for the tips. This definitely looks like what I need to do since I can only fish 2-3x a month.

Yep.... I thought it was a local, and Paul noticed the TX tag so you know it had to be close ;)

Yes they were Brady, we could have easily have put baits in his boat. He cut us and another boat off. Just taking a stroll and never would look at us. 4 people in the boat and no one would look at us. We ain't that ugly!

Best advice I have seen someone post in a long time. Great tip if people choose to use it. "W" is showing his softer side, must be the baby on the way. Thanks for sharing.

I had 3 local guides ask me how I did this morning and all three struggled and they are good fishermen, What really was bad was the Fog this morning made it hard getting around even with GPS and all, ..plus the last 5 days have been slam days, didn't think today would be much different but today was different, I haven't fished at all in that mess of boats in turners but the areas that we've been catching diddn't today....I don't have the technology on my boat to read graphs! ha...But that's some good info you put out there, I usually don't put that much effort into a fishing trip reading all that but today I wished I had, I had some buddies in from out of town and they went home with little fish..
