New Gun Wrap
 

Wrapped my old 870 Express Supermag! Forgot to take before pics, but you can imagine how the stock looked after 12 years of abuse. I like the turnout. It takes a little patience, as i was wanting every single crease to come out. Just wasn't gonna happen. Cant wait to get back on the ducks!!

pahahhah nah... i actually finished rigth around 9. took me about hour and a half. the curves were the hardest part. stupid stuff wanted to crease and double on itself.

Yep, it gets easier when you do a couple and learn the best places to cut. Still looks really good bro!!!!

yeah I didnt wanna cut too much and ruin it. the only places that really matter where there are creases were on the hand rest of the stock and the pump. The barrel pissed me off soo i said F it.

Barrel shouldn't have been hard...

cutting along the grooves was hard. one side was perfect then the other sucked. then i had to cut a slot out for where the O ring is... that was tricky.

Learned me some tricks doing 3 of them...the bottom of the barrel comes with 2 pieces and was easier right?....just line up the flat end on the ribs and wrap to the bottom. Top piece was just one piece?...I cut it down the middle to make 2, so I could do it the same way as the bottom. This way there's no cutting when its on the barrel.

NO there was only 1 long piece for the whole barrel..... thats what made it soo hard. (thats what she said)............ ahhhhhhh now i got ya. you cut the one piece down the middle hmmmm. sound interesting.

No. You got the Mossy Oak Brand wrap. I used the Camoclad. Same stuff just come pre-cut differently I guess. Camoclad came with 3 pieces for the barrel but I cut to make it 4.

mossy oak came with one long A@@ piece for the barrel. guess thats why i was having such a hard time. i will show you what i am talking about as "giving up" on it.

It has engavings on the sides. One side is a wild turkey scene and the other is a canadian goose scene.

the wrap micah has is easier to apply.

His auto? It's a 1100 or 1187? That guns too pretty to cover.

1100, but it's starting to rust from the brackish water in our marsh, and i don't think anybody blues them anymore.

The only reason i would cover a gun is if the stock was old and faded. dont think i would cover those old 1100.

there is a place in carencro that I heard does all of this stuff. They can blue a gun, wrap it, dip it, whatever.

The synthetic stock on my gun got kinda melted one day by a mud boat exhaust pipe. melted my gun case and all the way to the stock. I sanded it best I coould then slid a shell holder over it to hide. Never really enjoyed knowin its there. Thats why I want to cover it. How much was your kit? Saw some rather cheap on ebay.

got mine from macks prairie wings for 25$ with a 5$ shipping fee. duck blind was on back order but they have Max 4 in stock.

dont think its too cheap though. but if the gun is sentimental, it is worth it

he loves this gun don't care about the cost i'm gonna cover that for him. That's nothing compared to what he has done for me.

Eddie, next time use a hair dryer or a heat gun. Trim it pretty close and the heat will suck the wrap down in them hard to get places. It actually shrinks the wrap. Also, an Xacto knife is essential. It's still a good-lookin' job.

salty, I used the hair dryer as i went. I didnt wanna make cuts on the gun. the problem was that the peices were too big soo i was often doubling up when i couldve made cuts. I used a razor blade around the bottom of the stock and barrel. those were the two hardest parts to manipulate. the hair dryer did make it easier.

You didn't cut everything to fit perfectly next to each other did you? Overlap is fine and makes for less corners and ends to eventually pill back.

nope I doubled everything. it was just way too much doubling around the little knob around the stock on the bottom. and barrel was overlapping the sight soo i trimmed that back to fit.

Ah, gotcha. I might order me some of that Duck Blind camo for when I decide to change mine.

hurry up and do it... took mine 3 weeks to come in.

I'm in no hurry. Wrap I have on now is still brand new.

just saying if u wanted it in a timely fashion before the season was up today would be the day to order it.

I am sure if you were to order directly from mossy oak then it would come in quicker. eliminate the middle man. same price.
