My wife was left stranded on the side of 210 yesterday during the rain after she tanked up at the Smokers Express Citgo on 3501 hwy 14 in lake charles yesterday. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer in lafayette. We took a fuel sample and it was 80% water and only 20% fuel.

SaltERedneck 12-06-2011 12:23 PM

Gonna ask a dumb question here...Have you contacted the location that sold it to you? If so, are they gonna take care of you on this matter?

That's a lot of dang water!

I just hope they've quit selling gas until they get this straightened out! I'd venture to guess that this was a quick intrusion of water and, they were unaware of the problem...I hope they weren't aware of it anyway!

Hopefully they handle up on the repair without a bunch of bs.

I would almost bet that this is what my problem is. ****ty fuel. 95% of the time I use Jimbos or cormies for my fuel.

I would be happy to help with a lawyer. My father Inlaw is a big attorney here in lake chuck. I don't mind bothering him for help or advice.

longcast 12-06-2011 03:06 PM

Btw I have spent over 300 bucks trying to figure out my fuel issue with my boat. It only got me stranded in w cove.

Raymond 12-06-2011 03:07 PM

Turn a claim into ur insurance carrier and let them handle fixing the car. It will be covered under comp on auto and company will return deductible if they get reimbursed after they subrogate claim with gas stations carrier. All stations have coverage but they don't have to tell you who is covering them.
Good luck

Ate the repair's but diffently let business see the repair and towing fee's.Of course the owner was not available. Spoke quite a bit foreign langage of my own to the store personal.Little or no good probably came of it. I feel your concern but the worst is yet to come.15% ethanol. Holy Shizt then brother.

For that much labor sounds like the fuel pump,or a filter inside the tank.

Will"E"Fish 12-06-2011 08:34 PM

$500 In repairs and $150 in wasted fuel.

flatbottom 12-07-2011 06:32 AM

rig rat just a little fyi my grandma bought gas from lakeveiw in longville thats between ragley and deridder about a month ago and she went two miles and it would not go any more it was almost straight water. So i went raising cane and they paid for everything she needed. There was seven or eight cars broke down in a fifteen period over that. I even got them to pay for the spark plugs because they can foul from it. It can do a lot of damage...

RigRatNoMeaux 12-07-2011 03:19 PM

After the runaround for a hour. Finally talked to someone and they said they will take care of it for us.

Good deal. I'm sure the runaround part was verifying that the gas came from there. I wonder how many people put crap that's been in the shed for 3 years in their cars and try to blame it on a service station?
