Bear, Cat, or BigFoot?????

2 Attachment(s)
Ran across this today. It is doe about 80 pounds. Fresh kill from either last night or yesterday. The deer was covered with leaves and branches. One of the hind quarters was eaten on. Never came across something like this before. Thought someone may have an idea of what kind of animal might have done it. There are bobcats in the area and a couple years ago someone claims they saw a black bear. Got the trail cam on it now so I should have an idea what it is if the critta comes back. If it is "Sasquatch" gonna have to get a bigger gun.

Jordan 11-29-2011 04:43 PM

thats weird. Probably a yote or a cat.

SaltERedneck 11-29-2011 04:44 PM

chupacabra (sp)

Jordan 11-29-2011 04:48 PM

Might be Ray.... He said everything eats good...

fishfighter 11-29-2011 04:53 PM

people have said that a bear will cover its food like that, i don't think a yote or cat will try to cover something that big

Jordan 11-29-2011 05:20 PM

oh, i gotchya.... thought you meant the deer had no face... i was like, yes it does !!

nguidry 11-29-2011 05:22 PM

Nope! But I like him. Gonna make up a couple camp stories about my new buddy No Face.

jpeff31787 11-29-2011 05:34 PM

good idea about putting your trail cam there.. imagine if this bigfoot is real and your the first to actually get good clear video! That'd be pretty damn cool

Bigfoot is the master of illusion,he will see you put out the camera and avoid that area. :rotfl: Never seen that happen before,my guess would be a bear.

jchief 11-29-2011 08:04 PM

I have alos heard a cat will sometimes cover thier kill also.

Haven't yall heard from the NWF people, bears are carniv.... uhh, I meant herbivours and only eat vegetables and such.............

RigRatNoMeaux 11-30-2011 12:31 AM

Sasquatch.

Gerald 11-30-2011 02:20 AM

That is probably a bear that covered it up. You should get a pic in a day or two.....unless he has other food near by.

Yotes may find it soon.

Cousin shot a doe two thursdays ago on Tensas, we tracked her until it got to late and had to get out the woods, the next morning we picked back up on the blood trail and found the doe, but something had found her before we did. The guts were in 2 seperate piles, the neck and the rib cage were about 10 yards away from the rest of the body, and there was a big ball of fur and leaves, the park ranger lives next to our camp and she figured it to be some bears. Needless to say I did not mark any spots to hunt in that area.

Duck Butter 11-30-2011 09:11 AM

More than likely a bobcat. I saw something similar back in October and put a camera on it and it was a bobcat. He would come in, eat, then clean itself, then sleep! All felines will "cache", they kill the animal then cover with leaves to come back and eat on it. Bears will cache as well, but I would bet money this is a bobcat. Let me find those pics

Here is the link I posted on another website check it out

In Tensas if there are bears around, you are in a good spot for deer:)

They eat much of the same thing, I got some good pics of bears from Tensas as well

Looks like the yoots found the bait. They demolished the carcass. Pulled it all over the woods. Sure did not leave it covered. Got 8 pics on the old game cam. 7 of the sas. He was wearing jeans and looked an awful lot like me. One pic could not be made out. Talked to some folks they think it was probably a bobcat. Not sure maybe next time.
