What would cause a boat to not be able to get out of the hole? 1996 Bullet running a 260hp Evinrude with a 27 pitch prop.

Get rid of that evinrude,problem solved

Aside from the smart azz comments, what would cause A BULLET WITH A 260hp EVINRUDE not be able to get out of the hole.

It sounds like it but the tac, and water pressure are disconnected for some reason as well as the rev limiter.

That's a good way to burn up a motor

spun hub if the rpms are there.

The shop that Steven brought his boat to did that so he said, hmm more business down the road for you then.

Thats what my dad said it could be. It spins fine idling in forward.

I only rebuild motors for podnas.

sounds like a spun hub, Ive done it a couple times, cheap fix, bring it to the prop shop in port vincent by freds he can change it while you wait, takes a few minutes. with a motor that big you should have more than one prop, just in case your out and it happens you can make your way back in without having to go a few mph.

oh and don't drive your boat in the mud or sand and this won't happen!

If a spun hub isnt your problem, check your fuel lines. I just had same problem, motor would run good idle but as soon as you put a load on the engine it would not get out the hole at all. Found the fuel lines to be like coffee grinds in my filters, damn ethanol ate them up.

It was driver error. Boat hits 92 Brett said. But him and my brother are trading a Bullet for a Allison. Looks like me and Steven aren't going fishing anymore together.

Ya had to throttle up, let off, then let the wake catch up and then punch it.

114 is a tall order for a 21'10 bullet, gonna take a lot of hp. Paul Nichols has run 118 in a comp 20' with around 300++hp. There is a standard layup 21'10 in houma running 105.:cheers:
