One Hell of a story today!!! Darren Oustalet (Bubba Oustalet) , Stuart Guinn (Port Agg.) and I started the day out of Grand Chenier to go offshore for trout!!!........Got out there and the TIDE was ripping!! We could not hold anchor or even sink a 1/2oz jig head down!!!! SO.......went back in and loaded the boat on the truck and drove to Big Lake!!!

Frist stop we pick up a few trout...2nd stop a few trout 3rd Stop unreal!!!

Darren pull a 5lb trout in, 2 cast later he pulls another 5lb trout in....Stuart pulls one in!!!! Then Darren stick this 7lb 14oz...mule.....(keep to be mounted) then his very next cast.......Drag is going hard!!!! we did not see the fish before it spit the eel jr out but it was nice one!!!....All trout were caught on Norton Sand Eel jr's!!!!! Had a good day with trout action steady

Weight Darrens trout with digital certified scale...7lbs 14oz 29inchs long.... His personal best...Congratulations on the fish

Waltrip. do you realize how many tv shows would pay to have video of a day like that? Do those guys realize what they pulled off today? AWESOME!

Lets see some smack from Tx now!

Finfeatherfur 08-16-2009 08:35 PM

Don't worry Charlie, I know where he was at! I'm gonna "potlick" him all week!

Reel Bender 08-16-2009 08:39 PM

It was an awesome trip!! I was just as pumped up as them guys!! They were pulling em in one after another!!!

LaAngler 08-16-2009 10:13 PM

Darren congrats on that fish buddy. A solid fish pushing 30 inches like that is a fish of a lifetime for many, i'll take one like that over 50 15 inchers anyday.

I ALMOST went on this trip but passed b/c W said they were heading to another location, wish i would have made it. great catch

W don't let this one go to your head, wait, nevermind :rotfl:

i know better:thefinger:

wtretrievers 08-17-2009 07:45 AM

Awesome trip! All of us die for trips like that!

speck-chaser 08-17-2009 08:10 AM

that must be the famous trout that everyone is getting their panties in a wad for on the other site. A certain capt. was accused of posting the pics as if he had chartered that spectacular trip. Thats a nice hawg though. I think if I would catch that,I wouldnt put it on the wall,I would carry it in my truck,so I could show everybody.lol. Small world though, my grandpa lives next door to the oustelet families house or camp on the lake. Wonder if he saw them big girls.

jpeff31787 08-17-2009 08:14 AM

W why don't you just be a guide dude... if i knew a lake as well as you do.. I'd definitely research what i have to do to become a guide.. then you get to fish everyday and your wife can't complain

speck-chaser 08-17-2009 08:25 AM

After looking at it again, maybe its not the same fish, same exact size though.

Low 08-17-2009 09:17 AM

Well if memory serves me right, he has stated in the past he was a guide until questioned about some little thing called a license. :D

Ray 08-17-2009 05:02 PM

Capt. Roy's can hook you up with a license.

maybe ill let ya join TEAM REELENTLESS ADVENTURES!!

Gasper Master 08-19-2009 09:10 PM

Awesome Trip

Congrats to you guys. I too tried GC this past saturday with the same result. Could not get double rigged 3/8oz heads to the bottom to work. When you did get the bottom, the current would drag your lures right behind the boat in an instant. PUFF!!!!!!!! Hammered some good reds though
