Here is some pics of Mahi mahi that are making a regular appearance out here offshore where I work. On this particular night i would say that there are probably a few thousand mahi's just tearin' up the flying fish. It was an awesome sight, I just wish the picture would have came out better so ya'll could have seen the massive amounts of fish.

Thats awesome. And also the reason why I can't work offshore.. I'd be fishing more than working.. Especially since I've yet to get a Mahi.. Id be jigging for that bull.
|
Dang sucks you can't catch em...one of the perks of working. Offshore..I love hitches where they let you bring a rod...try to eat all the food in the freezer so you got room for meat...lol

There is definitely some money to be made out here. |

Hope you filled the tanks............its about 140 miles due south of Houma. Bring an extra fishing pole and let me know when you get here so I can jump in your boat. |
Gotta be 140 from the coast huh?
Because Marco polo is still in green canyon. And it is 140 from the coast |
On rip charts y'all are like 30-40 miles south of mad dog it looks like.
That's wayyyyyy to far for a center console. Marco is about the outer limit. Similar distance as mad dog. But the tuna are out there with this stupid loop current. |
Shellman said the Tuna were busting out the water this morning at Ursa.
Boats pulled in and started tearing them up. |
Ray. Your killing me
|
I didn't see them, I was sleeping.
Just heard about it from Shellman, he works days. |
Tell me about the loop currrent...............it rippin right now at about 4 knots
|
yeah and 140 from the coast.........and nothing but blue water out here all the time......and freakishly large yellowfin that stay out here. We are out too far for anybody to fish out here anyways............we never see any fishing boats
|
We had the loop currents last hitch running 2 to 3 knots.
Less than 1 knot this hitch. |
Yeah I was looking at y'all on rip charts last night. The current is rolling and y'all are in an eddy. That's why the fish are there
|
Tuna tearing up the water today.
Boats catching lottsa big big Tuna at Ursa today. |
