Here's a popular color back in the day that I resurrected on this 15 Series Bomber. It's called "Texas Chicken".

Yeah, with my airbrush. I used color-shiftin' paint. The colors change depending on the angle of light. Can you imagine what a trout thinks when he sees this thing? :eek:

He prolly thinks thats boozhetto.

Man i have so many baits that need to be re painted. How much do you charge per bait?

MY bet is.....if he had to charge something, you could go buy 2 new baits and it would be cheaper.

That's probably true, Mr. Gerald. However, I love stripping old baits, patching the dings and dents and bringin' 'em back to life with colors that you probably couldn't find in the first place.

For you, no charge.

Salty......if you need more baits to practice painting on maybe we could all bring some of our old "banged" baits next weekend.

I know I have a few that that are not much good anymore and need a new paint job.

That's a full days work getting all that mess out & removing hooks!

I just cut out what I want at the time. :)

The color doesn't show good because of the light, but, this is an "LSU" Spook. My neighbor and his buddy smoked the trout Tuesday in Delacroix on this color.

I told him they hit it because it's such an easy meal. :cool: :rolleyes:

Damn Salty those look awesome!! Were do you get all your materials? Does the clear coat hold up well?

someone was gonna try glow paint while back was that you or someone else and whoever it was did it work out

Hey, how bout you come paint some cars if ya "board!" I'm tired of paintin em!

I've been using Helmsman Spar Urethane and have never had any problems. I spray a couple coats after painting so I can do the detail without screwin' up what I've already done. Then I dip the baits 2 or 3 times and let 'em drip. Hook rash is gonna happen with any clear coat. I like the Helmsman 'cause it's just thin enough to dip, so, I don't have to spray it 99 times.

Just an estimate, but off the Calcasieu River this year so far, probably close to 80-90 bass.

Spray the color then dip the whole bait in clear coat? They come out pretty clean seems like they would have some streakage, anyhow they look awesome let me know when you board I'll send some of my old one your way haha

You know when you have time to paint baits...you ain't fishing!!!!! They looks sweet but usless if they are in the water
