bohunterbiff 08-02-2011 07:52 AM

It is getting better. Two years ago Fort Polk and the surrounding area had no Verizon coverage at all.

Dink 08-02-2011 08:11 AM

You still can't hear me now?

Ducktrickster 08-02-2011 08:17 AM

We switched Sunday also. So far, reception has been great.

Jordan 08-02-2011 08:37 AM

Top Dawg 08-02-2011 08:54 AM

I've tried em all. At&t is the best around here. I have service with them in places I've never had service before. Kisatchie woods got service. Shoot I even get service a good little ways out in the gulf.

get a room for christ sakes !!! :help:

scott craft 08-02-2011 10:27 AM

Better is relative to where you're at. Verizon is better in some places, AT&T is better in others. I think Verizon is overall more reliable, but it doesn't work everywhere.

Yes I am. I used to be a "My AT&T phone doesn't work at my house" person, but I've been with Verizon a couple of years. Neither carrier is perfect, but Verizon works better for me. I can't do voice and data at the same time and my data speeds are slower, but before Verizon I couldn't make calls at my house. To each his own.

Haha. That's why there is so many phone companies. What works for you may not work for me and vise versa.

Jordan 08-02-2011 11:43 AM

just got off the phone to verizon. Their customer service sucks, signals suck, people suck, phones suck. Pretty much suck. The idiot was being a smart a$$, as was I, and said "well sir, we might as well put a verizon tower in your front yard. I told him i would chop the mother****er down and shove it up his a$$

What was we talking about?

jlsch1 08-02-2011 03:55 PM

For work we had Sprint which was the worst.
Then Verizon which was better, but had alot of dead areas.
We finally ended up with AT&T and really have very few dead areas.
For my personal service I have been with AT&T since it was Cingular then BellSouth and had pretty decent service just alot more expensive than the others.

Ray 08-02-2011 10:29 PM

We have good coverage area with Sprint, but do have dropped calls and bad background noise when talking now and then, but the bad background noise is only when you are having a very important call.
We had Centennial for years with ZERO dropped calls, but lots of dead spots and the absolutely worst ever customer service. Any time you brought in a phone that didn't work or had an issue with the bill, they wanted you to sign another 2 year agreement or they wouldn't help you. The more business they had, the more problems we had. When they were small, they were great.
