fourchon wade vol 2
 

so after 3 days last week fishing and agin friday i didnt think my girlfriend would be down to make another trip ....well i thought wrong 5 trips in 7 days! jumped in the water around 545 this morning and got the biggest blow up ive ever seen . i got tp see the mouth on the trout and it looked like a bass ....missed the plug. kept getting blowups in shin deep water . kori was gettin a lil nervous so she decided to fish out of the boat while i waded out farther on the sand bar . stick a few more nice trout , then boom a 5 lbr then boom a 4lbr i see some bait working so i keep walking throw a plug at it boom redfish, throw back agian boom redfish so with a few fish on the stringer and a redfish hooked up i notice another fish following my redfish .... shark then boom 4 more sharks .. total of 5 4-5 ft bull sharks i slapped 2 in the head with my rod while still being hooked up! started walking backward and letting line off my spool thinking the red could be bait instead of me ... wrong ! one grabs my stringer completly nabs the 5lbr and another one grabs the 4 but only gets 1/2 ....still about 100 yards from the boat.....starting to need diaper at this point !!! long story short i made it back to the boat , landed the red i was hooked up to and lost either 2 1/2 - 1 1/2 nice trout to sharks... fished the rest of the day out of the boat

Sounds like to much of a close call for me!

made my first wade trip this morning then I come home and see this. One step forward and 4 steps back. Was finally comin around to wading.

Sharks sure know how to crash a party dont they..
Offshore is the worst ,when every other fish you reel in is just the head.

yea sharks were crazy in fourchon when we were fishing last weekend too. I lost 3 fish to em. one was a tarpon that was almost 3 feet long, came up with about 6" of him left

I've seen that a few times. Never been me thank goodness!! Its crazy to watch for sure!!

:shaking:sounds like a lot of bull! :rotfl:JK. We surf fish out of Empire/Port sulfur and last year was the worst Ive seen em, two in one day over 5ft. 2 close for comfort I can catch feesh out of my boat after all thats what I bought it for. glad you got out OK.

Worst for me was last summer wading the flats master series in punta gorda Florida ... 8' sharks

I got a good boat and no reason to get out of it. If that had happened to me, it would have looked like a serious oil spill in the water near my rear!

Oh believe me I checked my drawers when I got back in the boat! What scared me is I could see my heart beating through my shirt! Lol though I was gonna have a heart attack! Plus I forgot my cigs in the truck I was in need of a smoke BAD!! I usually don't get out but the day b4 the tide was lower n we could be dry on the sand bar but that morning was high tide n the fish were right in the bar I couldn't reach em by boat ... Trying to beat the 5.3 on the STAR leader board , if that sharks didn't eat my biggun I possibly could have taken 1st and 2nd with the one that was 1/2 ate

Ok my question is has anybody had an experience like this in the Hollybeach area. I've been wanting to into wade fishing, BUT I'm not thrilled about the shark thing.

U would crap yer self if u really knew how many sharks were in ALL costal Louisiana waters

Dang! Always on my mind when in the water. I think all would take is one time to keep me outa the surf for good. Thats crazy man.

We caught a black tip earlier this year near Turners and caught a small bull Friday on Commissary

i've seen the sharks thick thick down by holly beach we were in a boat...I did not wade. had them bite the stringer too.

Just remember, they are more afraid of you than you are of them.:D

If thats the case...there would be shark turds floatin' all over!!!!!

When i wade the beach i dont use a stringer just for that reason.. I use one of those floating nets dont know what they are called but I HATE SHARKS..

from now on i will kill every shark i can .... if im in the boat .45 to the dome or the ar15, if im waqding ...dexter filet knife to the gills .. f em i have a major resentment against those sob's
