Montauk17 06-25-2011 01:10 AM

I could be wrong, but I think spotted and kentucky bass are the same.

Micah 06-25-2011 01:15 AM

DUCKGOGETTER 06-25-2011 08:08 AM

mcjaredsandwich 06-25-2011 09:54 AM

They sure are pretty when they get big.

YellowMouth7 06-27-2011 01:51 PM

The regs also say this is how they are identified.

SaltERedneck 06-27-2011 02:25 PM

Fool, what area are you primarily finding these spots??? WF?

RonnieF 06-27-2011 02:31 PM

I've been told, some black bass can have a tooth patch also. Another telling feature, the jaw does not extend past their eyes.

RonnieF 06-27-2011 03:42 PM

But is the black spot rough like sand paper? I caught a couple of fatties in the 2.5 lb range a few weeks ago at toledo on a big crankbait. Fighting footballs!!

Ronnie

jchief 06-27-2011 04:40 PM

*NOTE: For enforcement purposes, a spotted bass is defined as a black bass with a tooth patch on the tongue.

Pg 15 of the fishing regs

huntin fool 06-27-2011 10:56 PM

Took some pics of what I've been calling spotted bass.. I'll email to someone to post in a.m.
