yup, i currently got a k40 i bought in 2004, got 1 ticket since and they paid for it....

this one seems to be the best out of em all,

even tells you where they are at compared (front/ back/ sides)

Gerald 06-20-2011 06:57 PM

IMO......

Those things should be ilegal to manufacture them, ilegal to sell them and ilegal to have one.

The only purpose of radar detector is "help" a driver break the law and make driving more unsafe for other drivers on the road.

If you really want to know how I feel..............

Hopedale Hustler 06-20-2011 07:01 PM

I feel like they should be Legal to have all day..just my opinion...war brand is this and how much they run?

flounder_smacker 06-20-2011 08:22 PM

its a valentine and run about 500. pretty much the best one you can buy along with an escort.

Zoom zoom.....

Big Flounder 06-20-2011 08:35 PM

I own a radar detector and I still only drive maybe 5 miles over the speed limit. I just like to know where they hide out at. My friend has one that lets you know when you are around a traffic light camera. That thing is sweet man. Wish I had one.

booyagasha 06-20-2011 09:13 PM

tell me about it, just got one form new orleans...110 bucks but stays off my record...still no moving violations for over 7 years@@

SaltyShaw 06-20-2011 09:17 PM

What's the make and model number on that thing, I need something like that driving back and forth to Houma down 90

Big Flounder 06-20-2011 09:19 PM

Go to radarbusters.com

expect to pay around 400-500. The latest model is the v1 i think, and it's bad arse. my current unit. K40http://www.pwr-tech.com/images/parts/radar-K40-sm.jpg

lasted me 7 years and i've only gotten 1 ticket(in which they paid, up to a year after purchase)

i've taken that trip from laffy to houma plenty o times...and the worst part is the patterson area.i go through no problemos and always make good time. (less than an hour sometimes)

a tip on driving, with or without radars....

never EVER ride in the left lane,

never EVER speed(if you choose to do so) on an open road with no cars head of you.

thats understandable because old people drive SLOWWWWW

booyagasha 06-20-2011 09:38 PM

with the radar, i "use" other cars, especially those ahead of you. In theory, if a cop is zapping people, he should zap those ahead of you(or around you) first, thus giving you the warning , and alerting you.

also keep in mind, if a cop is using laser or "pop"radar(where he intermittenly zaps on/off, on off) sometimes it's inevitable to get a ticket. It doesnt block, jam, or alter the cops radar/laser signal in any bit, just alerts you when you/someone near you is being zapped.

I do pass a lot of cars on the hwy.....but some pass me. Yes, I am mostly in the right lane..... that is the law now.

Oh, and if you don't share my feeling on radar....... you probably are the same drivers that feel driving 1 or 2 car lengths behind me doing 70 mph on the interstate is OK too.

Think safety first!

I try to drive the speed limit even on the interstate, so, I don't need a contraption to help me break the law.

fishin 06-20-2011 10:54 PM

The only reason tickets exist are to fund city bull****. Run up to Toledo soon and look at the brand new chargers all the cops have in these cities of 12. It's a racquet just like most other ****. Keep the honest man paying and the criminals collecting welfare. Our system is f***£*

$6 per month if folks do not want to commit to a year. In the gill net that would have been fine.

The reason cops write tickets is mostly so they (the violator of state/parish/city laws) don't do it again although most do. Yes, some poor cities with a poor police department use tickets to fund their police force like Livonia and Sorrento, but it also helps make an attempt to keep the roads safer. Now as for the Chargers, police departments generally keep cars for around 4-6 years and then SELL them to Taxi companies or other departments and even civilians. The Crown Vics are about to stop being produced or have been ceased in production already. I may not be all right in this response, but come roll across me when I get on either with Gonzales Police or Sorrento Police, and I'll further explain it. I'd rather write a ticket to a speeder rather than an accident report with a fatality.

fishin 06-20-2011 11:25 PM

I apologize for my comment. Had a few tonight and took it to personal I guess. No one is a ***+** for their opinion. My bad
