Fly Fishing for days

1 Attachment(s)
Outcast and I made a Friday, Saturday run down to Reggio and Delacroix. We pre-fished for the Saltwater series next weekend and had a little fun while doing it. We saw well over a hundred fish in the two days and were able to land double digits. Today we got an added bonus of having Paul Myers on the boat with us. Paul was able to land his first red on the fly this morning and we couldn't have been happier. All in all a great weekend with new and old friends. Paul want to say it was great meeting you and once I get done with this tournament you are coming back to this side for more.

Montauk17 06-11-2011 07:50 PM

LPfishnTIM 06-11-2011 07:58 PM

nice catch!

Gerald 06-11-2011 08:14 PM

Nice Red Paul.

I got 2 fly rods.........just sitting in the shop. I use to use them fairly often for catching bream. A nice Red would be a blast.

Mediumheavyaction6'6 06-11-2011 08:20 PM

if you used those fly rods for bream, they just might be a blast and splinters!

One for sure..... it is a 60+ year old Bambo rod.

Other rod I think could handle a nice Red. Not sure what weight rod it is.

Yeah man, had a blast! It was great meeting Paul and he even brought us some cool Salty Cajun schwag! Thanks again for the shirt and towel.
We'll have to do it again soon!

Mediumheavyaction6'6 06-11-2011 09:04 PM

Just talked to Captain Rocky, looks like I am headed back to Reggio in the morning. Three days of fly fishing in a row, what's a man to do? I know, enjoy it!

A few more pics, these are from today! Had one of the best days of fishing that I can remember having. Saw at least 10 different schools of fish tailing and well over 100 fish we put eyes on. Hooked 30+ and landed 20+ on the fly.

outcast 06-12-2011 06:15 PM

Ryan, is that the spot I took? ;)

Sea-Trac Offshore 06-12-2011 08:06 PM

Take me before the baby is born. I got 3 weeks!! hahaha

PaulMyers 06-12-2011 09:01 PM

Lucas/Ryan, Y'all are the best!!! :) I can't even begin to express how much fun I had yesterday. I have been on the water fishing several times with different people but you two take the cake. The work you two put in just so I could catch my first red on a flie was way more than I ever expected. Ryan, I will never forget the red that hit your flie right at the boat and then took off screaming through all that grass. I think I was more excited than you were. The speed that fish had once it felt the hook was unbelievable. Lucas, you make this fly fishing stuff look way easier than it really is. You and Ryan are like an artist, the fly rod is your brush and the marsh is your canvas.

I want to take this time to thank both of you for taking your time so close to a tourney to allow me to get that first red on a flie. I learned a lot from both of you. If I can ever do anything to repay the debt that I feel I owe, DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK.

Fellow SaltyCajuns these two guys are the kind of people we need to emulate! The world would be a much better place if we did/could.

Wow, that makes me seem like a much better person than I really am! Thanks Paul for the kind words. I get more thrill out of seeing people do what I love as much as I do.
