leaning toward the blackjack but dont know if i wanna spend that much and i cant find any used blackjacks worth a damn .. might just sell my boat and wait around for a smokin deal on a used boat

I really like those 24 ft Blazer Bay's, fished outta one in Grand Isle and was impressed.

go visit your GF @ Boats Unlimited and get the 22' bluewave purebay with the SHO. Also, the Blazer Bay 22' Fisherman model is sweet. However, first thing you need figure out is do you want a 22 or 24'....

Don't get the blazer...the walls start to bow in and out in the sound when things turn south and shat gets sketchy...me and Johnothan Sanchez had that experience in his and it scared him outta it...great boat besides that though...it's just not wat I'd want when it gets big out there....

If your talking about the red Majek it has to many hours for a 1 year old boat. My SHO is 8 months and only has 62 hours

I don't think you can put 300 hp engine on the back of a Blackjack. It's only rated for a 250. You can put one on either of the Blazers you mentioned. 25 Majek.....sweet. 24 HO Haynie.....sweeter. You can put a 300 on a Haynie. Shearwaters are good boats, but in my opinion, Blackjacks are a better choice in that class.

dosnt some one on big lake have a majek 25 ?? how does it handle the slop .... 25 ft seems like it would get on top of the chop but what about when it looks like a blender?? plus as HH mentioned above i dont know how keen i am on have a rolled edge boat as far as flex when its nasty out . i do think the blackjack is my best option... HOT PINK BLACKJACK!

Yes, a buddy of mine has the Majek with a 250 SHO. He loves it. For guides, rolled edge is the best option. His boat will run close to 60. No side spray. Haven't ridden in it yet, but a few of my podnuhs talk highly of it. A TON of fishing room.

I agree. 2 foot of more boat is great. It'll handle the chop out there better than a Blackjack. I can attest to that first hand.

If its the Wilsons shearwater then that boat will get up and scoot! Ourselfs and a wrapped haynie got smoked by it running down the Mississippi last October. Asked him what he was doing and he said 68. Brady loves his haynie and my buddy loves his majek. I would test run/ride and get a unbiased opinion, after all it will be your boat and have to deal with the ride.

I have never fished the east side of Louisiana but can it really be worse than Big Lake in a 30mph north wind? Do not let the low sides fool you, it is a very dry ride in the slop at speed. I'm going to try and sell my boat after the next XRT redfish tournament so I can get another one with a 300xs

After looking at the list of rigs you are interested in, it appears that money isn't too much of a problem for you. That being said, I would recommend a used or possibly new Yellowfin 24 Bay. In my opinion it is the best bayboat money can buy right now. The fit and finish, quality, fishability, ride, and performance of the Yellowfin 24 bay are second to none and it is the most impressive bay boat I have ever fished out of (and believe me I have fished out of many different ones). I have fished out of all the boats you listed except for the blazer bay. The haynie and the blackjack are the better/drier riding boats on your list and they both run 60+ mph with a 250. The haynie is light, fast, and rides surprisingly well in a chop. I have a Champion Bay Champ and the ride is very comparable, the haynie is just a lot faster ( IMO not many boats compare to the ride of a champion but I was extremely surprised at how smooth and dry the haynie is in a chop). The blackjack is a prettier boat, not as much deck space as the bigger haynie, but is an awesome boat to fish out of. It rides very well in a chop and is no turtle with a 250 SHO either. You definitely can't go wrong with either of those choices for a great all-around bay boat. I highly suggest you check out a Yellowfin and consider it in your list of choices though. It will make any body of water you fish seem smaller and more accessible with its performance and versatility. It is quite a machine. Happy shopping!

P.S...... If the yellowfin is out of your price range, the extra 2 feet on the haynie is an advantage in the slop over the blackjack. It reaches out to that next wave and keeps you on top of the slop and will ride a little better than the blackjack when it gets nasty. The extra length on the haynie also gives it a considerably more amount of fishing room and you can also get the haynie built in any custom configuration that you could think of. Just my two cents, good luck!

Lake Pontchartrain and especially Breton Sound are worse than Big Lake with half the wind.

Wave distances differ, depending on winds, currents, fetch and depths.
But longer boats do ride betta.

Dang, I had no idea Lake P got that bad. I would be looking for something in the 35' range as I hate rough water.

10-15 lake p is basically unfishable.... Nonbank to hide, no cove to tuck into..... Just a big ole massive wave pool.

All depends what direction it's blowin but anywhere with 17 ft of water gets nasty quick..... U think that's bad try lake Erie where I'm from u fish for 2 lb walleye out of a 150,000$ 35 ft boat lol WEAK!!!
