Buff Headwear

How many of yall wear a buff?

I don't get sunburnt on my face, except on my neck and ears, Thinking about getting one... They worth it or what

If so, what color yall got

yak'em-n-stack'em 05-29-2011 03:17 PM

Def worth it

LPfishnTIM 05-29-2011 03:17 PM

I got a buff headwear and it keeps my neck and ears from getting burnt and I wear a hat and sunglasses too. I got the shark camo.

BayBolt23 05-29-2011 03:35 PM

Yep I have one but dont wear it like I should

Micah 05-29-2011 03:44 PM

Just picked one up from academy, digital camo color.

jlincecum 05-29-2011 04:38 PM

worth it!!!!!!

LPfishnTIM 05-29-2011 07:00 PM

I like mine, don't know if its really worth $25, two bandanas cost $3 and can cover the same area, the buff wear looks better, more breathable and doesn't stink when you sweat in it.

Montauk17 05-29-2011 07:15 PM

They are nice....I hate using sun screen, and they are very comfortable.

Make a deal with ya, you buy, wear, and post a photo of yourself actually wearing something that will help you a avoid skin cancer and I will send ya a check for the amount in total! Make sure you write up your experience with buff. What have you got to loose??

cmdrost 05-29-2011 10:05 PM

i even wear mine while mowing the yard! Love it. Helps with allergies while mowing.

jlincecum 05-29-2011 10:07 PM

sounds like you have a subject for your next article little buddy

huntin fool 05-29-2011 10:31 PM

I haven't worn a drop of sunscreen since I was 9. No Sh%^. Never have liked it. Never bothered by sun burn, until it started hitting my ears and neck, and now I just hate that crap.

Josh, I haven't wrote for Cajun Outdoor's in awhile.. Just lost connection with them?

LPfishnTIM 05-29-2011 10:37 PM

I haven't wore any sunscreen for a long time, I usually just fish in the fall and winter, but the last two years I've fished spring and summer and this year i've worn longsleeve shirts and hats sunglasses and my buff headwear. I'm more concerned about my nose getting sun because that seems to be a place where people are getting skin cancer.

now's as good a time as any to get back in there. the older you get, the more the sun will start to bother you. better to start on prevention early, otherwise you might look like an old weathered leather shoe down the road

huntin fool 05-29-2011 11:34 PM

I'll pick one up next time at academy fa sho.. worth a shot. Nothing to lose

evis102 05-30-2011 06:56 AM

It helps with wind burns on long runs for sure.

outcast 05-30-2011 07:20 AM

I wear mine all the time, keeps the sun off and wicks the sweat from your neck. Also keeps the wind out of your face and ears on long runs. Plus it makes you look cool, like a bandit. Unless you were it like a doo rag( like Micah) :)

Sea-Trac Offshore 05-30-2011 08:06 AM

Just remember to take it off when you get gas! Might get shot for robbery

huntin fool 05-30-2011 08:14 AM

Lol.. Personally I don't want to look lke a faggot wearing one.. lol but I guess they aint bad

Sea-Trac Offshore 05-30-2011 08:18 AM

I never wore one. I fish until the sun comes up and I am done. I dont need all day like yall to catch fish! hahahaha

mcjaredsandwich 05-30-2011 08:22 AM

My son has allergies and exzema, this past weekend he ran out of his Blue Lizard sunscreen, which he has never had a problem with, and my wife put some Bannana Boat on him. He did not have a reaction that afternoon, but the next morning he woke up with a few hives, and she put some steroid cream on it and it went away. But that afternoon after playing and swimming with no sunscreen he broke out again, freaked out is not even the word! boy had raised hives everywhere, straight to the ER, looked that bad. Of course Dr. thought we were crazy, because they had gone down by the time we got there, but I never saw anything like that before.

Moral of the story, stick to what works. Blue Lizard is the stuff!

Hasn't happened since.

I have exzema so I thought my body might have had a reaction. I guess I gotta find what works. I used a generic brand spray on sunscreen for the first time and it happened. I usually use coppertone and have no problems. But this stuff was almost an immediate reaction. Have left over red splotches today but it is not nearly as bad as yesterday. When I was younger I used a steriod cream called Elcon I believe. Worked wonders back then, used to scratch myself until I bled while I was sleeping.
