evis102 04-23-2011 10:53 PM

There is a hotline number on the Sabine NWR complex website to call and check if weirs are open.

Pole_benda 04-24-2011 12:26 AM

See you all out there, I'll be down Tuesday and then again Friday. Find me if yall can! Get pre-registered! Because boats take off in the order they register (10th boat signed up 10th boat Leavin dock)

Pole_benda 04-24-2011 02:35 PM

Hahaha nice! Trust me I didn't plan it that way... Just 16 boats so far signed up. I'm sure more will sign up once they get a warm and fuzzy with the fish they catchin'.

Is that really how it works? Most tourney's do a random draw.. Not too many ahead so it doesn't really matter, but if you had a huge turnout that could cause some interesting dilemmas...

Yeah its first come first go. here it is in the rules in part 3.
"All teams will be assigned boat numbers according to the order of completed registration (including payment)."

Other tournament trails (IFA) does a number draw.

Come on guys and spread the word. More boats=more payouts=more money won. Talks earlier in the year was that people didn't want to come out here due to poor turnouts and not so good fishing. We can only help the turnouts and then they will see the quality of fish here. Big lake is a fun fishery but the guys from the east just isn't acclimated to fishing it. so tell everyone hide ya kids, hide ya wife grab ya boat and fish this Saturday.

I wish half of these ducks who know every boat detail and fishing lure form Spain to Germany and catch 11lb trout everyday would sign up.... Seems like when its time to pay your dues and show up.....99% never do:cry::cry::cry::cry:

But you can bet they will have a story about two 12lb reds they caught Saturday and what if and if that....would have won...

I might not ever win but I show up

If I can get out of my trip saturday I am coming. I know of a few other boats going from over this way that havent signed up yet. maybe I will see yall there

Pole_benda 04-25-2011 04:56 PM

"W" I'm with ya buddy. I like the competitiveness of tournament fishing. When guys says "would of, could of" etc, is easy. When the money is on the line its different. Only way you can know if you would have won the tournament is to actually fish it. I'll be right behind you in the line up. Good luck.
