There was supposed to be a Texas/Louisiana tournament on Sabine Lake.
I talked to a few friends who have camps and houses on Pleasure Island and lined up the docks, building, RV park and weigh in areas. Then nothing happened.

I ain't getting involved in this kinda thing again.

meaux fishing 04-07-2011 09:26 AM

I think a bunch of us should just all go down there for the weekend and have a tourney... Nothing organized or anything. Just a big party and fishing for a little bit of cash. Everybody can throw in and we can boil crawfish or fry fish or whatever. Just throwing that out there...

Montauk17 04-07-2011 10:22 PM

I am willing to get it rolling....also can help with the sponsorship to make it more interesting. What date does everyone have in mind? I was thinking late may or early june...

You're the boss, so make the call.

If we twist Fool's arm he will probably help. You let us know and I will pull some more sponsors together. Don't have as much time this go round, but we'll have plenty of stuff and a big turnout.

either Calcasieu point or Hebert's

Montauk17 04-08-2011 10:22 AM

The weigh in will be at calcasieu point, heberts does not have enough room.

southern151 04-08-2011 10:24 AM

Will this tourney allow for tiller handles or do we have to be rollin in the high dollar rig here too? LOL

No promises but, I'd sure like to make an SC event!

fishaholic82 04-08-2011 10:28 AM

If anyone could post some info on places to stay I might be interested in giving Dularge a break and head west for this tournament.

specktator 04-08-2011 10:30 AM

Sounds good to me. I'm in!

big lake guest houses are pretty nice

LaAngler 04-08-2011 10:41 AM

best bet, just set the rules and post them once then thats it.

one of the main things suggested after last time is a "lines in the water at X time"

Rules will be set once and that's it. Keep in mind this will be for fun and braggin rights, not a high payout.

My friend has a rent house that he rents to sports on the weekends. Its about 1/2 a mile from cal point just before the pontoon bridge on Big Lake Rd. If anyone needs the number PM me. It also has access to a big saltwater pond.

PaulMyers 04-08-2011 11:24 AM

I'm down with that! In a tiller boat.

I only got a 25 Corey, you won't have to worry about me being the first to any fishing hole.

Sent from my EVO

Shawn Braquet 04-08-2011 11:31 AM

Im in, it'll give me a reason to get back on the water

adamsfence 04-08-2011 12:11 PM

Lake Chuck Duck 04-08-2011 12:23 PM

June 25th would be my birthday weekend so I would definately be down.

Montauk17 04-08-2011 12:25 PM

I was just informed that june 25th will not work for potential sponsors. More than likley it will fall into july.
