for those that have fished it....do they catch tarpon, like the size they catch in boca grande? or smaller?

Yep...He is there with David H...They left Thurs....

I fished it a fw years back.........No Tarpon, didn't even see one. Our yellowfin Tuna was in first till right before weigh in was over, the winner beat us by 2oz.............I'd bet it was stuffed full of lead.......our blackfins got 2nd and 3rd.....Great weekend!!!! The shows on the streets are the best!!!!

I used to love tarpon weekend but now it's just gotten to crowded and to wild or maybe i've just gotten to old.
If you ever get down there make sure and get to sand dollar on fri an sat night. for the show.

I fished the Faux Pas tournament out of Venice a couple times with some co-workers.
The Faux Pas group was kicked out of the Tarpon Rodeo because their women were too wild.
They hire girls from some of the strip clubs in New Orleans and Baton Rouge to help bring in more guys for their tournament in Venice to compete with the Tarpon Rodeo.
I don't know what it is like after Katrina. I haven't fished there since.

i fished the feaux pas before and mah best friend left the feaux pas saturday to meet us in grand isle cause he said it was abunch of old rich people...

The first time I ever saw real, live tah-tahs was at the "Empire/South Pass Tarpon Rodeo". Don't know if they call it that anymore. I was 8 years old, and all I knew was that I wanted to see more, lots more. :D
